Last year I called Willman's have my oven repaired. The repairman came out and was having trouble diagnosing the problem. He said he would do some research and get back to me. He never did. Even after three subsequent phone calls on my part. Last week, in need of a different oven repair I decide to try again. They are a local business for me, and I try whenever possible, to use support my local businesses. My bad. I made two phone calls to the office on two different days Both calls were answered by a secretary who said I would get a call from the repairman/owner to schedule an appoinment. Not even the courtesy of a return call.

They were great. Oh I'd give them an "A" for overall, they were great. I'd give them an "A" on price, they were right on line. The quality was excellent. Responsiveness, they came right out. They were right spot on these guys. They were excellent, they diagnosed it immediately and fixed it. This is who I'm going to use in the future.

They could have sold me an expensive fix it job on the washing machine which was a maytag neptune. They correctly told me to junk it, and just buy a new one since I would have further problems down the road. The repairman was very personable. And HONEST!

After trying to resolve this problem for over 2 months with the owner, I finally have to write a review I don't want to write. Our dishwasher was overheating and we decided to call a local service after having problems getting a hold of Sears, the manufacturer of the Kenmore dishwasher. A gentleman came out and spent 36 mins trying to diagnose the problem and couldn't. He left saying it's either 1 of 2 things, please run a cycle, and let us know which problem it is. Upon hearing that, and paying $150.33 for his 36 mins of time after leaving without fully diagnosing the problem, we decided to give Sears a call one more time. Sears came out, and within 30 seconds diagnosed the problem: the mother board was shot. This was done with a diagnostic test apparently available to all repairmen. Upon hearing that, I called Willman back and explained the above. I also explained on their own website they did not list Kenmore as dishwashers they serviced. So, I thought that may have been in the problem, but she said they do service Kenmore. She was also surprised that her repairmen did not use the diagnostic test and that she was also surprised that he left putting it on our hands, and said she was going to speak to him right away. More than 2 days later I got a call by the gentleman, returned his call less than 1 day later, and never heard back from him. I proceeded to call the woman again a few weeks later, she remembered me, and was going to speak to her repairman and call me back right away. 5 days later, and after 2 phone calls, she finally picked up the phone and refused to let me speak to the repairman. She was immediately defensive and would not let me speak. And when I did, she didn't want to hear what I said. She also questioned (the previous time as well) why wouldn't I call them back if the dishwasher wasn't fixed after they came back. I proceeded to tell her that if I take a broken car into a mechanic and a mechanic gives me my car back still broken and doesn't know what the problem is, why would I go back to them. She also proceeded to inform me that I paid for a 90 day guarantee (for $90) that if there are any problems, I'm covered for trip charges. I asked her where was that listed, she said it's not listed and I should both know and she would have told me. I explained that we spoke to you to set the service, had a repairman come out, and further spoke to you again, and that was not mentioned. She only wanted to believe her repairman's side of the story and would barely let me speak my side, and my wife's side. She refused to return my money and unfortunately I feel that I need to tell you my experience. I guess sometimes the customer isn't always right.

"Sorry, [Member Name Removed] that that was your perception of this service call. Our technician, Scott ( who has worked on Kenmore products for over 12 years ) had a very different take on the situation as he was dealing with Mrs. [Member Name Removed]. She told Scott that she had hung up on the Sears customer service technician because they told her she was not using dishwasher safe plastics. That is when she called Willman's. We came out promptly and ran the unit. All components were working. Scott took apart the sump area and removed a lot food debris from said area. Scott then dis-installed the thermistor which was also covered with food debris. (the thermistor controls the temperature of the water ). Scott cleared it and re-installed it. Scott then ran the unit and checked for leaks. Everything seemed to be ok there. Scott then explained to Mrs. [Member Name Removed] that the food debris that encased the thermistor could have prevented it from monitoring the temperature of the unit, thus causing the heater to stay on for a longer period of time.He asked her to monitor the unit at this point and see if that fixed her melting problem. If it didn't he told her it was probobly the main board which is a much more expensive repair. And if she needed that board we would come back with it no additional service call charge. ( As it is our policy to give 90 days on a recall ). Willman's always tries to give the customer the less expensive repair options with out throwing expensive electronic parts as a first line of repair. If Mr. [Member Name Removed] had called back we knew it would then need the board. We would have ordered it and installed it for the fee of parts and labor only. In the end he choose to pay another service call to Sears and have them come out."

I called an got an appointment a few days later. We received a reminder phone call the day before. Scott, the appliance repairman came to our home during the time he was scheduled to be there. He was absolutely top notch! He assessed the situation and then explained what he thought the problem was. He tried to fix it without ordering a new part. The machine still did not work properly, so Scott told me that we could order a part, and although he thought it would probably fix the problem, he said it was not a 100% fix. He gave me all the options. He gave me a price of the part, a harness, that he thought would do the trick. He said that he would take the gamble on the cost of the part to see if it worked because the cost to replace the bar refrigerator would be much, much more costly. Scott ordered the part, came the next week, and installed the part. The bar refrigerator is working well now. We were not charged for a second trip out to install the part. We were only charged the cost of the part and labor (which was minimal). We are very pleased with the knowledge and professionalism of this company. In fact, we are having them come out to provide a service maintenance on our Five Start gas range. We highly recommend Willman Service and will use them in the future.

What a pleasure to deal with Willman's. From my desperate call to fix my dead refrigerator and their effort to squeeze in a repair the same day to the punctual appearance of a competent and friendly repairman who put up with my 94 pound dog and curious 1 year old granddaughter, this was a very good experience!  The price was fair, the service excellent and my refrigerator is humming!

I contacted the provider for service, as their ad says they serve all of westchester. Apparently they serve all of Westchester but my town?    VERY unprofessional. Why does it was all of westchester?

Scott was very pleasant and efficient. Diagnosed the problem and installed the replacement part (which he had in the van) immediately. Showed me exactly what was wrong with the faulty part, how to put the disassembled freezer back together properly if the need ever arose, left the worksite clean, checked to see if the new part was working properly, reset the fridge/freezer to the correct temperatures, etc.
While these kinds of experiences are never perfect and range from "pretty good" to "horror story", this service call was about as good as it gets. Finding service providers? from the doctor to the plumber?that are professional, competent, and do what they say they are going to do should not be hard to find. But they are. Willman Service is one of the keepers.
