I was charged over $900 for front and back brake pads and rotors - half of that amount was for labor - total rip off - way overpriced for this simple maintenance service.... RIP OFF

They are excellent. Their customer service and the quality of their work are excellent. They fixed the issue in my car with no problem. Their prices are also reasonable. I have been there a few times already since I found them.

They were horrible. They lied about a bunch of things they didn't pass the car for it's driveablility inspection. I then took my car to another mechanic and they did not log their inspection in the computer so to continue with my inspection with another mechanic I had to re-pay the 37.00 dollars for the inspection because they did not log there's in the computer. They also had to start all over again with the inspeciton. When I was there with Stack's Auto it seemed like I was not the only one who was getting a run around.

"[member name removed] i went over why the car failed inspection [member information removed] these things are all part of New York states inspection i know you want your car safe you said to us you had your [member information removed] to fix these things we cant break the law and just put stickers on cars that fail we follow the inspection guide lines to make cars safe out on the roads i would think you would want that for your car you can always contact john or me {tom} at 631-539-0930 we would be happy to go over anything ."

Very well. I have been going to Stack's for several years now, they are always prompt and punctual. They make good use of email and calendar appoints to remind you when you service appointment is and when you care is ready for pickup. They will also pick you up and drive you home. We have a chrysler aspen that we drive on the beach a lot which lead to some steering arm issues that had to be corrected. They explained to to us and fixed the issue. For the inspection, they pointed out the things that we may have to fix over the next year before the next inspection (like new tires) so we wont be surprised a year later. I like that the do this as opposed to trying to tell you that everything is critical and has to be done right away. If something has to be done now (whether for safety's sake or in order to.

I my car to Stack's Auto Service Inc. I have been dealing with them for over 10 years. My son and daughter also use them. They are honest. They tell you what may be coming up, they warn you of upcoming maintenance. Possibly you might need tires, possibly you might need brakes. Any time day or night you can call them and say I've got a problem. They will come get you, tow you, drive you to your house if you don't have transportation. They are such an honest hardworking auto shop. They bend over backwards just to please you. They do everything. They e-mail you, they remind you that your oil change is due or whatever. They are an altogether auto shop that does not rip you off. They are honest beyond belief.

They had been damaged years ago in a real cold snap and had been tried to be fixed after and when the tires were replaced. I asked about getting them fixed and they ordered the parts and installed on the next oil change. Always excellent service and have gone to them for years.
