DAN THOMPSON INC

I called and made an appointment with the Dan Thompson estimator in September 2012. He was very professional, arrived on time and provided a written estimate for the overall job. I received 3 other estimates and all the estimates were within several hundred dollars of each other. When Dan Thompson Roofing was selected a deposit of 10% was required and paid. The job was scheduled and began about one month later.
The crew arrived promptly on the date of construction and removed 1/2 of the roofing material and replaced it the same day. There were  about 10 people in the crew the first day. On the second day a smaller crew of about 6 workers arrived and completed another large section of the roof including removal & replacement. On the third and final day, the job was completed. The owner arrived earlier in the day and returned as the crew was finishing up the job and requested payment and it was made.  The majority of the crew left for another job and 3 workers finished up the job and left.
After the last 3 workers left, I inspected the area and it was left in a mess. Tar was left on the street in front of my driveway and one of the trucks drove over it leaving 3 or 4 spots to be scraped and cleaned with paint thinner, more than 100 nails and 3 razor blades were left  along the sides of the home. Several old nails were protruding from under the gutter in two locations. My fireplace vent was damaged, the wooden fence was damaged, several shingle skid marks were left on the siding and some edging had wide open spaces that needed to be repaired.
I called and spoke to Dan Thompson who said he would stop by and inspect the problems. He never showed up. When I called a second time, he said he was working on a gutter job and that he would stop by either after the job or Saturday morning. Again he failed to show up or call and reschedule. By this time I was getting concerned that I was not going to get this matter cleared up. I went up to inspect the gutters and found  them full of nails, roofing debris and the front drain spout completely plugged up.
I called the office and told the lady on the phone about these problems and she wrote up a work order.  Two days later two workers came by and closed the gap in the siding on the front of the house but it was not done properly. I was told they would tell the owner about the damage to the fireplace vent. I have yet to hear from the owner and I called and left another message. I am not very pleased with the follow up response to these issued and would not recommend this company to anyone.
