AJ's Snow Removal

AJ's was a total ripoff! They demanded cash only payment in full at the time the contract was signed. In addition to snowplowing, they were supposed to mow my lawn once before the snow fell. They never showed up and when I asked what was going on, I was told that their truck broke down and they couldn't do the job. She then sent me a link to a GoFundMe page, asking for donations to get the truck fixed. I asked for my money back and Christy (the manager) refused. She argued and got nasty. She said that the contract says no refunds; the contract says "no refunds AFTER services have started". Since services never started, I was entitled to a full refund. She threatened to "call the cops and have you thrown in jail". The lawn was never mowed. In December after a particularly bad snowstorm, I had to hire a neighborhood kid to shovel my driveway because AJ's never showed up and would not respond to calls or text messages. I filed in small claims court. Christy got on Facebook and attacked me for asking if anyone else had been having issues with them. She called me a liar and said "I'm bout to shut this lady up". During the exchange, I discovered that AJ's plow truck had been damaged in a sideswipe accident and he wasn't even plowing; he was using a snowblower. This led me to the conclusion that they are not insured; if they were, they would have gotten their truck fixed. I again asked for a refund and was verbally attacked by Christy. Andre (AJ) and Christy refused to refund my money. The morning of the small claims court hearing, Christy contacted the court to say they couldn't make it to court because they have to pick up their kids at school. The kids are on winter break. Steer clear of these people. They're awful! Their BBB rating is bogus (BBB is useless anyway).
