Responded to emergency situation and was at our home within an hour. Began work immediately and informed us of all the particulars as he went along. We were very pleased with the end product: the pipe was replaced and the kitchen faucet is not longer leaking. Highly recommend this plumber.

Response from Valenza Plumbing, Heating & Air Conditioning Inc

"I apologize you didn't receive a prompt response to your phone call for services that you needed, but I have no record of a call or message from you. I make every effort to answer or return all calls promptly and would have done that with your call if I had received it. I would be happy to speak with you about this service if you would like to try to contact me again. Eric"

Very thorough had owner and assistant at the site.  Took measurements of square footage of upstairs and provided recommendations for tonnage on improvements needed for A/C unit upstairs.  Added freon to upstairs unit.  Checked and performed tune up on both main and upstairs units.  Replaced filters.  Received Angie's List discount offered by the provider.  Very prompt and professional. Would definitely use again.

They showed up on time. Replaced bathroom sink hose with a completely different style than the other one.  They finished in approximately 10 min. For a part that cost less than 5 dollars and the amount of work they performed you'd think they'd be honest and fair about pricing. Nope.
Maybe if they did that they would have more repeat customers. As like most contractors in the area, they just want your money and to never to see you again.

When i wrote my original review, i intentionally left out a comment made by Mr Valenza while he was at our house. This comment made me question him and required some further research...

When we called about one problem, we really had two problems. We figured that while he was making the call to fix one problem we could get him to fix the other problem. When we asked him about our kitchen sink.

us:               "our kitchen faucet is actually dripping when it's in the off position, could you take a look at that too?"
MrValenza: "That brand? Delta? That's common with that brand of faucet. I'd only make it worse if i attempt to repair it.."

This is where i would expect Mr Valenza to suggest replacing the common spring/seal to fix the problem.  Something so easy he could probably do it in his sleep.

Funny... myself, who has zero experience with plumbing was able to fix the leak.
His response led me to believe one of two things.
A, he was trying to sell us a new faucet (that we didn't need)
or
B, his $150 fee only included one repair, and that he would need to come back, charge us another $150 fee to replace the spring/seal

Mr. Valenza did reach out to me after reading this review, but the damage has been done (sorry!)
Since then we have moved on to a new service provider.

I'm sure Mr. Valenza does wonderful work when he's paid for a large contract. I'm sure he's the BEST plumber in the area. I'm sure his work is perfect and done by the book.

Think twice about hiring Mr Valenza for small work, because he's quick to take your payment and his visits are brief. Surely, this must be the "cost of doing business"
Response from Valenza Plumbing, Heating & Air Conditioning Inc

"Mr. [member name], I am sorry that you are not 100 satisfied with the work that was done on your bathroom lavatory. Allow me to address your concerns. - I charged you the minimum service call fee of $150. I wish I could charge less than that, but the cost of doing business does not allow it. - A service call includes travel time from shop/office to the customers house, on site time, as well as the return visit. The "10 minutes" is not all that is billed for. - We used a stainless steel, flexible supply hose which is better than a hard tube supply. I don't understand the "C" for quality. - I have and extremely high rate of return, satisfied customers. - I am quite certain that an educated consumer that has hired contractors to come to their home/business will see through your post and realize that I did the right job at a fair price. My only mistake was not giving you an estimate over the phone prior to my arrival. This would have prevented us from doing business in the first place. - I hope this sheds some light for you [Member name removed] and more importantly to the Angie's List Clients reading it. Thank you. Eric"

I had an appointment for around 10 am but the I was called by the Plumber, Eric DiLeo, who stated he had an emergency call and wondered if I wouldn't mind if he took that call first.  I agreed.  Eric and a helper showed up later in the day and were shown what I wanted and where and they went right to work.  They were at my home less than 2 hours and were very helpful in answering other plumbing questions/quotes I had.  There was a little, and I do mean little mess from the install of the hose bib, due to the fact there was drilling involved, but in all other areas of work they were perfectly clean.  Eric was polite, informative and professional during the entire visit.  I would and will call them again for any plumbing needs.

Called and left message on Thursday late in the day. Eric called back Friday and we made arraignments for Saturday am. He called on Saturday morning said he'd be here within the hour and he was. When he came in we showed him to the furnace and let him do his thing. Problem diagnosed and repaired in less then a hour. We talked about other services he provides and dogs while he wrote out my bill. Very nice guy and I will call again in the future,

He came out and gave me a quote and we made an appointment to have the AC fixed but then it started working again and we didn't need to change anything.  I didn't know what happened. I needed someone to service my fireplace and he was honest enough to tell me that they don't specialize in fireplaces but he told me where to find someone who does fireplaces.

I am renting my house in NY and living in NJ.  The person renting the house called me and told me the pipes were leaking.  I called Valenza plumbing and left a message.  Eric called me back probably within an hour or two.  He said he could go take a look the next day but may not be able to fix it that day.  The next day he called and let me know what the problem was and that it was all fixed.  The only issue I had was that he didn't call me after he found the problem, but before he fixed it, to let me know the cost and for me to okay the repair etc.  But otherwise, the experience was great.

They were efficient, timely, cleaned up after themselves, and did the job at a fair price.

The representative was prompt and helpful and recommended, instead of using the tankless system I was considering, switching to a regular electric hot water heater. I needed something that didn't need to be vented and after Irene in August, I wasn't going to put anything in my basement again because of the flooding that I experienced.

I wound up using another plumbing company, A. Stevens in Washingtonville, NY,  a company that had performed work for me in another house about 20 years ago.  I went with an electric hot water heater in a closet on the main floor of my house. The job was exactly what Valenza would have done, same equipment (Bradford-White heater), but was four hundred dollars ($400) cheaper than the estimate I received from Valenza.

Their price was reasonable and it was lower than most of the people.  They were very efficient and punctual.  They finished the job in one day and they were immaculate when they cleaned.  Everything was done almost perfection, especially the cleanup up.  Sometimes people come in, they do some work and they leave a mess but Valenza didn't leave a mess at all.  The cleanliness and the exactness of the air handler were well put together.  They were really very good.  I would recommend them whole heartedly.

I discovered a large cast iron drain pipe in my basement had a 1 inch hole in it (it rotted out) which lead to a VERY wet basement.  The hole was at a location in the pipe which was very close to the joint and basement wall.  This job involved a lot of work and sweat, but they completed the job in a few hours.  The workmanship was great.  In addition, they noticed that one of the pipes that led to the drain pipe was not installed very well (previous home owners put it in).  They changed the fittings and secured it (the right way!) and also fixed the basement sink faucet which he noticed was dripping - both at no additional charge.  They vacuumed up the water in the basement as well.  When the job was complete, they even cleaned the hallway floor on the way out!  As far as price - I was shocked - I truly expected it to be at least DOUBLE what they charged me!   Superb job and I would recommend them highly!!!!
