We had placed our granite order through HOME DEPOT IN FISHKILL NY, everything was fine until the install. The Faucet hole was not drilled where i had showed /told them to drill it that day, they drilled the hole one inch off center of the window center and sink center, as you can see in the picture, ridiculous. Further, the island counter top has sharp fiberglass mesh under it and when you sit there your legs get scratched, my daughter has twice. And the response we get from both these places is, that how this granite is. Lastly the counter top on the left side of the stove is 3/4 "smaller in depth than the counter top on the right side of the stove, seriously. We have spoken to home depot and stone works for over four months and nothing has been or will be done, both have terrible customer service. I would not and will not let these people into my home again at the risk of them messing things up further. In the twenty years of being in the construction trade, i have not seen so many major mistakes on one job, which could have easily been remedied if they had cared and payed attention. Do not use them. Stoneworks didn't have a long enough drive to secure the sink clips to the granite, so I found one in my van that the installer could use, because his drive was too short to install the clips he was saying the clips wont work. good thing I'm a licensed professional 4 times over, and saw through that fiasco. Home depots kitchen cabinet and counter department in Fishkill should be ashamed, using every excuse available to lead me on for four months, telling me there emailing people etc and there getting a resolution etc. Really, there is no customer service here, if there was, I woulve received a refund. UPDATE 7/27/2017: Yesterday the sink fell off the counter top!! Yep, another thing to add to this mess. I went under the sink and reviewed the sink install they did under the counter and what these people had done , and no clips were even present on the entire front of the sink. All the rest of the clips are stripped and are loose and not even holding anything. Most are falling out of the granite. I had stated to these people clips have to be used all the way around the sink, they didn't listen, even though I'm a licensed plumber. Rule of thumb, when people are installing granite have them set the under mount sink on counter and have the plumber install all the Plumbing. I'm not so sure about that rule of thumb anymore, stone works doesn't do a professional job by no means on anything, but take your money. I don't want to even call these people, they play some sort of phone game if I remember from all the other mistakes that were never addressed. They say hold on real fast when they pick up the phone and then hang up and or say hold on and leave you there until the day after tomorrow holding. Take this from a real licensed professional who had these people in his home. Don't do it, it's not worth it. I have never seen so many mistakes ever in 21 years of being in this field. All of which are mistakes that are from not caring and or not paying attention. They don't listen, as you can see from the sink photos. Undermount Sinks cannot be set with only silicone or epoxy period, ever!
