HARVEYS PAINTING & REMODELING

Jeff Harvey gave me an estimate to put in a new kitchen. I had purchased all of the cupboards from Lowe's. I purchased new appliances from Olum's. It is not a big kitchen. we reused the existing sink. The estimate I was told when he started the work did not include any materials. I was not told this from the beginning. I was given a receipt for materials which then doubled the estimate I was given. We had to discuss the fact that he charged personal items on my bill. He deleted them. The statement was made that they make purchases for themselves when they perform work for Lowe's customers and they hadn't thought anything of it. He took out nice Oak cupboards that I had planned on keeping and a floor that wasn't very old. He took them away. He said he would return them. Jeff then changed the story a couple of weeks later and told me that they went to the landfill. He told me I could save him some time and varnish the cedar backing on the cupboards, but it did not save me any money on the bill. The customer needs to be with Jeff at all times to watch his work or he tends to do what he wants. My stove was so unlevel that the oil ran off the pan when I tried to cook. He came back and leveled it. I have a large hole in the wall in back of my stove, which is exposed where he tapped into the electric. The finish work is very undesirable. Rather than using one nice wide board where it was needed he used a couple of 2 inch boards and told me to burn the wood and varnish it and I wouldn't know the difference. It looks terrible. I have screws that are exposed under my cupboards that he was going to install a trim board on and never did. I have seams in my countertop that are out of place and already starting to pop up. It did not go well. I have a lot of unfinished work to complete myself. I have used Harvey's Paint and Remodel in the past and did not have a problem.
