VOLVO AT MARTIN'S MANHATTAN

Let me say, I only spent $100 because I threatened to sue them and they gave me back about $690 in labor costs. Here is the whole scenario. We took our 1996 Volvo 960 in because of rough idling. They told us it would be about $785. We paid it. Within one day, the problem was still there. I took the car back. They then "diagnosed" the car and said I'd have to pay $2,200. I told them no way, and they gave the car back to us. At one point, we opened up the hood to find some sort of tool left next to the battery. It was a sort of screw driver. I could only imagine what would have happened if we had hit a bump and that tool had flown into the engine fan. I then did some research and found another mechanic. He charged about $450 for a complete tune up in addition to fixing the problem, which was a misfiring cylinder. I wrote to Martins demanding my money back and told them I was going to court if they didn't pay me back. They paid back the labor, which amounted to, as stated above $690. Bar none, the absolute worst experience I've EVER had with a mechanic.
