When my husband and I bought our prewar apartment in Manhattan, we knew it needed a gut renovation and total modernization. How immensely lucky we are that we found Joe Lupo and Visual Therapy. Not only did Joe present solutions and ideas tailored to our preferences, he also completely managed the project and became both a trusted adviser and friend â all, magically, within budget. He truly went above and beyond expectations, turning a daunting process into one that was actually fun and rewarding. Using our concept as a jumping off point, Joe had a vision right away for our apartment that he proceeded to fulfill with enthusiasm and utmost care. From designing an open kitchen with my dream island, to renovating the bathrooms to make them seem double their actual size, to installing drapery that I never would have known to include on my own, Joe elevated our space and turned it into a flawless haven. We are very grateful.

I met Joe Lupo from Visual Therapy after attempting to update my daughters bedroom at our home in Southampton. He did such an amazing job with her bedroom that I started rethinking other rooms in the house that I thought could use a refresh. I explained to Joe that we were on a tight deadline as the holidays were approaching. He was so diligent and efficient that in the end, we actually completed a full remodel of my 15,000 square foot home on time! A total and complete transformation using many of my existing pieces of furniture combined with incredible new and antique lighting, window treatments, wall coverings and carpets etc. My family and friends were completely impressed - I highly recommend Joe. Not only is he creative and talented, but heâ s also extremely kind and thoughtful, making what could be a stressful experience an absolute pleasure.

Visual Therapy was always on call, always helpful, and always cheerful in handling a giant renovation on a large house. They have fresh ideas and the best contractors, painters, etc. I even double-checked myself and got outside bids from contractors and painters, but the price through VT was the cheapest and their work was fantastic!

I have had the pleasure of working with Joe Lupo from VT Home for two of my homes. In the city, we converted a two bedroom to a one bedroom with large formal dining room as we enjoy entertaining and hosting dinner parties. His attention to detail and discerning eye and excellent resources took both of our homes to levels we never dreamt of. One thing that set Joe apart from other designers that we interviewed both for East Hampton and Manhattan was that he really listened to what we wanted and understood how to fine tune our natural aesthetic. He also shared that he has a background in finance from many years ago so he not only has the creative gene but knew how to keep us on track and most importantly he is a PLEASURE to work with. I stumbled across Joe Lupo from VT Home on Instagram a few years ago as he designed an apartment for a public figure that I follow in the West Village. My new husband and I had just closed on a new construction Chelsea apartment and were about to start a family. We had a fairly substantial budget and were starting from scratch with this new home. We wanted to create 'our' new home and new life that truly represented us. Joe listened carefully and gave us exactly what we wanted - and quite honestly exactly what we never dreamt of. The home is the perfect combination of new and antique, luxurious but approachable. Each room told a story and each object was carefully chosen for the space - down to the art on the walls and dishes on the table. Joe was a such a pleasure to work with that when he asked if we would be okay if it was published in a magazine, we agreed and it was!! We love this apartment so much that we hired him to do our house in Southampton. Its a large home that again, we had nothing to furnish with. We gave him our budget and he met our expectations.
