My family has been going to Veterans Chair Caining & Repair for actually decades. They are truly terrific and it is nice to know in this world of disappearing local shops that they are still here.

My experience with Veterans Chair Caning & Repair was excellent in every respect. Initial communication was clear and courteous; pick-up of chair was exactly as promised; quote for the work was reasonable; timing of the work was very fast; quality of the work was excellent; delivery of the finished chair was prompt. All in all, I could not have asked for a better experience (and I understand that others in our building share the feeling).

Short discussion about what was needed -- caning and staining. He did what he said he would do when he said he'd do it. Didn't seem to be open to bargaining so we didn't try. He did do a good job.
He picked up the chairs, did them at his workshop, and returned them.

Work was done as promised and on time. They recommended we have the rocker reglued as well as the seat replacement and we agreed. The rocker is now sturdy and the replaced seat matches the back exactly. We are very satisfied with the work done. Although it was not cheap it was worth the money.

Very good service. Slight glitch in that I was given two different accounts of how the delivery charge was handled. I was first told that the pick-up & delivery charge would be included in the price if, after getting a phone estimate, I went ahead with the job, but was told later that this wasn't correct. However, they honored what I was first told and deducted it from the price.

Beautiful hand caning work! Prompt and courteous! I never had service so completely efficient! Picked up and delivered, completed work within a week!!!! Price for hand caning was reasonable compared to other companies. Although it was expensive, the alternative was to throw away chairs that I love! I plan on giving them my 3 other dining room chairs to do as well!

All in all, while I know dealers who use them & rave, walk-ins are another story. I would only recommend them for caning & check the repair before you leave the shop. Quality control was not high on the list.
