Kevin was very helpful, spent a lot of time going over plans, brought many samples of granite and very enthusiastic but his estimates was much more than I could afford and he did try to bring it down but even that was too expensive for my budget.

Very prompt and responsive. Very willing to explain all the details of the estimate.
Description of Work: We received a very prompt visit and detailed estimate. We put off the project so did not choose a contractor.

I had an emergency situation and as my apartment was on the market for sale, I was in need of a reliable contractor for a great price, in an insane time frame. I called Kevin's firm out of the blue, after reading their favorable reviews on Yelp. Kevin and his guys tackled a massive problem that had to be dealt with in a cohesive way, and under deadline. His price was fair, but I was short on funds. Other contractors at the time gave me lower estimates, but I was impressed with him personally and with his inventive solutions, and so we hammered out items and came to a price I could afford. I've used a lot of contractors over the years, and their initial estimates always disappear as the work progresses. In this case, however, the pricing stayed on course, and whenever there was an issue, Kevin or his partner, Matt, would call em to make sure I was okay with it. As this was a big job taking place in a 230 year-old brownstone with unforeseen issues arising at every turn, I really appreciated the extra care in this manner. Comprehensive yet creative solutions were found for every problem, ones that were professional and lasting and not slipshod. I so much appreciated this method and agreed with them that it was far better to address problems for the long term rather than have it fall apart after a new owner came in. Miraculously, they finished the job on time and threw in a whole bunch of stuff free of charge, simply because it had arisen and they felt it easier to go ahead and fix. In the end the price was right on budget. Another thing that set these guys apart from the crowd was that Kevin was onsite everyday and available at all times, even late at night, for questions. He was 100% hands-on. My experience with contractors who left the premises, leaving crews or "foremen" to oversee the work, has almost always been an unmitigated disaster. This experience, on the other hand, takes construction to a whole nother level, and makes me want to go fix something else.
Description of Work: Replaced outlets, installed lighting, replaced toilet, marble tile in bath, granite in kitchen, replaced drywall, fixed leaks, sealed up rodent entry, removed closets, painted, cleaned brickwork, exterior deck, and landscaping. A large part of the job involved the removal, repair, and replacement of my parquet (hardwood) floors, and reconstructing the foundation below.

Met with my soon and was able to detect leak. The ceiling had fallen in. They dried the area and was able to patch the hole. They fixed everything and painted over the hole. It looks like no damage ever happened. Kevin e-mailed detailed results of what he did since I was here in New Orleans. It was very nice and I was able to feel comfortable with him in my home.
Description of Work: Small piece of ceiling fell in. Dried, fixed, painted.

The front room of my home which has an open porch area above it, was not properly supported and was beginning to fall. The supporting beam in the front was being held up by a few bricks and my prayers! I had several contractors come and offer different options but I did not like the options they offered as they were either very expensive options or they didn't resolve the problem.I contacted Paragon Building Artisans but they were booked up and not able to take on another job but they gave me a referral to The Winged Brushman. I contacted them and set up an appointment to meet. Kevin came to my house, listened to my concerns and explained to me what he saw and what needed to be done. He needed to confer with one of the men he works with before giving me an estimate. He did and we set up another appointment when they both could come by. The second gentleman, Billy, went into more detail about what could and shouldn't be done and explained to me what they would do to correct the problem, should I opt to utilize their services. I did! They arrived a bit late on the first day because of traffic but got right to work as soon as they arrived. This team of three was efficent, on schedule, neat and respectful of my old home and my family. There were no surprises, they finished when they said they would and the price I was quoted was the price I paid. Kevin even gave me some tips on how to repair the inside room if I didn't want to hire anyone to do it. I plan to take his suggestion and act upon it. My home is old, built in the 30's and there are several more projects that need to be done. I plan to use this company again.
