After the surgery, they have been very thorough. I had a post-op appointment the day after the surgery, and given they saw some inflammation on my right eye, I even went twice before my 1-week appointment, until they felt comfortable that they had my inflammation under control; which is funny because I couldn't feel any different.
I am so happy with my new eyesight, I wish I had decided to undergo this a long time ago. I totally recommend them!
"Sorry that you had this experience with us. I will look into the Insurance information you provided with us. There is a possibility (as well tell all our patients) that your insurance claim may have been denied and that is why you were charged the small fee to your card to cover the eye appointment. The consultation is free to all Angies List Members that come in. But any TREATMENTS that are needed or extensive exams can be charged if not picked up by insurance. But we always inform the patients of these costs before we go ahead and proceed. Thank you for your review and we will continue to better our practice for the future"
So far,so good. I corrected to better than 20/20. I found the biggest issue with the punctal inserts, would recommend you don't get them if you don't absolutely need them. Overall the treatment itself took less than 15 minutes, my first follow up was about 5 minutes.
If you are going to get this surgery, for sure wash your hair before you go because you really can't wash it again for five days.
Overall, I have no complaints about Diamond Vision at all except that the price does seem high to me.
I would recommend Diamond Vision.
Other people may have had no problem but I couldn't let someone I don't trust advise me about a potentially dangerous procedure. I didn't get the lasik at all and am still not wearing reading glasses.
They had a great pile of glasses that you can add yours to at the end. What a great feeling!
In the longer term, drops are still necessary but vision is perfect.
Dr Stetson, who performed the procedure, sat with me, as he does with every patient, just before teh procedure to review what would occur during and after.
The female consultant, whose name I don't remember even though I've seen her at least 4 times, walked us through the post-op care in great detail.
When I went in last minute, 3 weeks after surgery, because of a worse than expected discomfort in my right eye, Dr Stein was helpful and did not rush me or dismiss my concern, although my only problem was dryness, which highlighted the slow healing of one tiny portion of teh eye, causing the discomfort. She explained what was going on & why, clearly and patiently.
My only constructive criticism is that the office respond to questions sent my email. Sometimes they did not respond at all and I had to call the office. The person that gave me my initial consultation said I could email all of my questions. If they truly mean this, they should respond to the emails that are sent. Getting eye surgery is a very serious matter. Answering potential patients questions promptly will make them more inclined to go to that office.
At the initial consultation, to determine if you're a Lasik candidate, Brad walked me through the surgery, answered my questions, and took the extra time to answer popular questions I hadn't asked. Perhaps because I was one of the first Angie's List clients, Brad also introduced me to Dr. Stetson, who conducts all Manhattan surgeries. Dr. Stetson reviewed my test results with me, and explained why my results showed I was a good candidate. Then, they gave me a folder of instructions to prepare for the surgery and post-operative care, including a prescription for pre-op medications.
On surgery day, a surgeon walks you through the pre-op procedures, and answers questions. Before the operation, Dr. Stetson sat with each patient, reviewed their eye health and previous test results with them again. He also told me what to expect in the first few days and months. Also, they provided me with a few post-op samples to get started (e.g. rewetting drops), and I left. Though the operation took 15 minutes, expect to spend about 2 hours on the day of surgery.
For my post-surgery exams, I've visited the Paramus, NJ office, which isn't as busy. They're efficient, but since they usually only have 1 optometrist, it seems like the wait time is a little longer (30 minutes before seeing a Paramus optometrist vs. 10-15 for the Manhattan office). Nonetheless, I greatly enjoyed my experience with Diamond Vision, and have recommended them to friends already.
was a less than a 5 min. wait once I got there. I saw the technician 1st. He tested my
eyes with various machines answering all my questions. He was kind,
courteous and could tell by his answers that he was very experienced. He answered my questions
completely. Although he was quick I did not feel rushed at all. I then
saw Bradley the CEO. He was thorough in his explanation and was also
kind and courteous. He informed me about the surgery and pre/post
visits, He also asked if I would like to know the more technical aspects
about my vision and why I was a candidate for the surgery. I have
planned my surgery just after the holidays, so hope all goes well.
Dr. Stetson's personality filters down through his staff. They are accommodating and treat each question as if they are hearing it for the first, not the thousandth time. This is a highly efficient practice but you never feel like just another number. The environment is patient oriented, attempting to have the patient as comfortable and relaxed as possible. They perform weekend surgeries so that you minimize any lost work time.
I had the procedure two days ago, I could see the improvement the next day. My vision has improved each day. This procedure is more than cosmetic; it makes a difference in everything you do and how you see the world.
