Very fast, expert service--and they explained everything they did in a way that a non-technical person (me!) could understand. They were very pleasant and answered all my questions to my great satisfaction. And they went the extra mile to do the repair quickly so that she could finish her term paper, which was due a few days later! Will definitely use again for any and all computer related needs.

This went perfectly. My laptop was over 3 years old and out of warranty.
They allowed me to trade in for a immediate credit towards a new laptop.

I needed my optical drive checked out possibly fixed it was not burning, which was under warrantee I wanted to drop it off and pick it up either fixed or unfixed with an explanation as to why?
But Tekserve has never been good with servicing customers in a timely manner. It's the system and the employees that are the problem.
First the color coded order, it doesn't matter to the consumer, it may matter to you, but it doesn't work. Someone needs to monitor the customer agitation asking how long have you been waiting, is something wrong. No one can tell who is in front of them because another person with a different colored numbered ticket maybe in the store elsewhere. So who knows if they’ve been there.
Because you seat people behind a monitor at the ticket counter and it’s a mindless job they surf the web, have buddy conversations with the other employees when their true concern should be are all the customers happy are numbers being called has anyone been left behind.
The color system should be eliminated, so should the person at the desk replaced with a 1 color ticket system and the ticket puncher should be eliminated, it’s a waste of money and actually frustrates customers.
There are waiting times for the computer to be checked on, and good bedside manner is appreciated by customers. But when the technician tells stories, to only all the single women who are there to drop off, when a iPhone drop off takes 25 minutes because of story time while the technician next to him finishes one off in 5-10 minutes clearly something is wrong. You can not teach an employee to love their job to stop with putting their own intentions ahead of the employee, easiest way is to replace him.
The guy who called 61 ahead of 55, send him back to algebra 101, do not accept him back until he scores an A. You might say an oversight but it is common and I run into in constantly with people in charge of money who cannot do simple addition and subtraction.

On April 4, 2013, I visited Tekserve and told the front door greeter I needed to know if my MacBook was dead or repairable. He directed me to seating for customers waiting for Repairs and gave me a number, so I'd know my place in the Repair line. (I love getting a seat: it relieves my arthritis.) My number was 36. An overhead screen told me #32 was being served by one of the 3 repair staff on duty. In 10 minutes my number was called.
I told the repair person that my MacBook kept shutting itself off after a few seconds and asked if it could be repaired, and, if so, for how much. He connected my laptop to Tekserve's system, and diagnostic software indicated in seconds that the rechargeable laptop battery had gone bad. On removing the old battery, he pointed out it was not just bad, it was also bulging, maybe putting pressure on my laptop's components. He told me, however, that the bulging aspect seemed recent and since the battery hadn't leaked yet, a new battery would probably make my MacBook useable again.
He offered 2 options: I could get a new Apple replacement battery, or for a few dollars less, buy another maker's compatible replacement battery. I opted for the cheaper replacement. Tekserve also offered to recycle the cardboard packaging my new battery came in and to recycle my old battery. That saved me from having to lug home the heavy almost exploding battery only to worry about its safe disposal. If I need to exercise the new battery's 1-year replacement guarantee, the necessary info is included in Tekserve's system with the bill of sale.
So, my 6-yr old MacBook is working again--I'm using it to write this review--for much less than the price of a new laptop.
I'm a repeat user of Tekserve going on 10 or so years. I don't think I've ever been looked after by the same staffer twice, but every staffer I've met--including the guy wearing multiple facial studs, black eyeliner and matching nail polish--has been friendly, attentive, efficient, organized, remarkably proficient in all things Apple and Apple compatible, and never pushed a product on me (I believe Tekserve sales people do not operate on commission.) I recommend going to an Apple Store to try out Apple products. But to buy or repair them, go to Tekserve.

I've been using them for a long time and they are great. They are an Apple affiliated company and they offer at least as good a help as you would get at the regular Apple store.

My entire experience w/ TekServe was excellent from my first phone call to resolution of my issue. They live up to the hype I've heard about for years. TekServe really does customer service right. They take the time to understand your issue before starting the work. I had complicated iPhone and PC incompatibility issues that no one else would touch. HUGE compliments to Matt Giddarie, the tech repp who worked tirelessly with me until he'd resolved all my seemingly unsolvable problems, and he stayed calm and friendly the whole time. TekServe aren't the least expensive upfront, but they are extremely cost effective. I certainly got way more than my money's worth and I'm sure I saved money in the long-run. I would absolutely go back and refer them to anyone who asks.
I love my iPhone, but I also love my PC. I only wish they would do more work with PC's not just Apple products.

He sells and repairs Macs and other equipment that works with Macs. They also run an amazing assortment of seminars that are all free. They have fixed things that other people have told me are not repairable.

They were excellent. I probably spent less than $200 for the repair work. They were wonderful and I loved them. I am going to miss them since they are in New York and I have moved now. They just do Mac and that’s one thing people should know if they are looking for a Mac place. I first went to the Apple store for the work, but they wanted to keep my computer and I was in the middle of a big project for work. They actually recommended that I go to Tekserve because they have loaner laptops. If you are having a repair done, you either don’t have to pay for it all or it’s like a really minor charge. If you ever need a loaner laptop, then it is $100 a week, which is really reasonable. You can make sure that the loaner has everything on it that you need. I am a graphic designer. So, they made sure that the one that I got had all the programs on it and it was wonderful. They are really nice and they explain everything to you. You do have to wait in line. You come in and there is a person right at the door. You will then get a number depending on whether you are looking to purchase something or you need repair work. They have a place where you can sit down, but you would never know how long the wait is going to be and the wait can be a while. It was the same at the other store and so, it is just the way that is. They were really good in responding and they were good all around. They were on time. In fact, they completed my job early. Their professionalism was excellent too.

I was having problems with my laptop and they diagnosed the problem immediately. They said that the battery was causing the trouble and gave me good advice on how to keep the battery from draining. They are competent, honest, and trusting. I drive to New York for the service.

I've used Tekserve Corporation many times to repair my computers. They seem to know a lot about Macintosh computers. I've been mostly happy with their work. This time I had to tell them what was wrong because they couldn't figure it out on their own, but that's okay with me. I think their prices are a little on the high side.

They were fast and the price is right. They informed me that without a warranty it would be better to get a new computer, so they didn't even charge me for their estimate. I would use them again.

The care at this facility is good. The only thing I do not like is the wait. They could improve on their punctuality. They do charge reasonable rates though and they are good at what they do, I would have to say.

THEY ARE FANTASTIC. I CHOOSE TO GO TO THEM RATHER THAN GO TO APPLE DIRECTLY SO THAT SAYS SOMETHING. IT'S JUST MORE PERSONAL SERVICE. WHEN YOU GET UP TO SOMEBODY, IT SEEMS A LITTLE MORE LOCAL.
