Full service home improvement company that can renovate your apartment or house. For more than 25 years we have been servicing customers in mostly Manhattan and occasionally in other boroughs. Our custom carpentry services are oriented mainly to interiors, but have also completed decks, fences, roofing, exterior doors etc. We have a team of carpenters and project managers who are service oriented. We provide consultation that can help you make decisions on your project. We have many trusted subcontractors specializing in electrical, plumbing, steel work, stone fabrication, moving furniture, cabinet makers, HVAC and more. We normally present proposals with detailed and itemized costs and begin job with a deposit. Recently we have found that hourly and day rates are helpful on projects that are not easy to estimate.

Awesome! This was the 2d time that I used Space Carpenter and they were every bit as reliable and professional as the first! They can easily deal with NYC coop paperwork, which is a huge plus. I reviewed, before traveling, what I wanted done with Kevin during a period when I would be traveling. He and his team were so awesome in getting what I needed, and I knew from my prior experience that I could trust them to do the work in my apartment on their own, while I was away. I don't think my bathroom was ever prepared for paint and painted so well. And they were great in picking up the paint and shower doors for me, once I described what I was looking for. I just loved seeing the beautiful job when I got home! I highly recommend them and will continue to use them for small and large work.

Kevin's company did a thoroughly professional and meticulous job of repairing the problems. Ken came in to review the situation and proposed a solution which sounded very reasonable. He came back and did the work carefully and skillfully. (A paint job was also included.) Space Carpenter did some work for us previously -- about 2 years ago – making repairs and improvements to several cabinet drawers and doors that were out of alignment or didn’t close properly. Because we were so happy with that job, we decided to call on them again for this one. They are consummate professionals, skilled, imaginative, responsive and punctual. We would hire them again and recommend them to anyone seeking their services.

Kevin and team are outstanding professionals. Their work is impeccable and looks outstanding. And they stand by their work. We had a minor issue that popped up 3 plus months after the work was completed and Kevin and team came back to repair without question. Kevin is a wonderful, professional and reliable contractor.

I had been shopping around for a carpenter to build some under the stairs cabinetry for some time. The estimates were all over the place. I came across Space Carpenter and after a few emails I knew Kevin was the man for the job. His estimate was reasonable and his professionalism was unquestionable. He came in and took his measurements and created his template and delivered a finished unit on time which fit like a glove. I tend to nit pick over the littlest of things but I couldn't in this case. I was more than happy with the finished product. I still have more to do in my home, such as some electrical work, leveling and re-paving my backyard and some light masonry work and I fully intend to use Kevin's services again. Space Carpenter gets a big fat A+ from me. Thanks Kevin and expect my call soon,

Perfectly. We had used Space Carpenter in October for a larger job (see prior review) and were so pleased with them we had them come back to do the above repairs. Armando was the carpenter again. He was prompt, courteous, neat, and the repairs were done without a hitch.

The carpenter arrived on time and quickly assessed what needed to be done. He took measurements for a replacement piece and went back to the Space Carpenter shop to fabricate a replacement piece and was back in my apartment installing the piece within two hours of the initial visit. The installation took only 15 minutes, and it was done perfectly. Incredibly impressed with the speed, responsiveness and quality of the work. Will use Space Carpenter again for any related work I need and will definitely recommend the service to my friends.

Perfectly! Kevin Rocine was wonderful to work with--prompt, courteous and always kept me informed. His carpenter Armando did excellent work. All the pieces were well made and to exact measurements so installation went very smoothly. They came out twice to take measurements and to recheck them.

I own a townhouse in Brooklyn. I had a bunch of small repairs that I was trying to get fixed. We went to another shop here in Brooklyn first, but really struggled to get their attention for this kind of work.
Kevin was great. At first I was not sure about his method of not quoting a price and basing it entirely on Time and Materials, but his carpenter, Armando, was efficient and knowledgeable. He got through everything in a day and for a reasonable price. I was very pleased and would definitely recommend them to anyone else.

I had purchased a magnificent wall unit from an estate sale that someonw had started and messed up. This company put the finishing touches on it.

Overall good-quality work. There were a couple places where the work was somewhat sloppy, but these were fixed very quickly after I notified Kevin and Diana Rocine (who run Space Carpenter). The best thing to highlight was the responsiveness of Diana and Kevin, and how incredibly clean their workers were. When I arrived home in the evening each night they were working, another part of the job would be complete but otherwise it was as if nobody had even been in the apartment (no construction dust, tools and materials all neatly placed in a corner). Overall recommended.

We were very, very happy with the work they did and are getting quotes for a next round of work. We were able to create a mutually convenient, relatively fast timeframe for doing the work (basically taking a separate dining room and converting it into a soundproof bedroom.) The attention to detail and craftsmanship was superb - it is probably the nicest part of our apartment now, particularly the custom made, huge pocket door that they milled. What we really appreciated the most was that from the initial conversation they came up with thoughtful, creative ideas for how to maximize the project, most of which we implemented and are happy we did. This may be small but they were also very, very tidy and respectful. Very professional.

Basically, they had to rebuild the whole room. I emptied the apartment and had to leave for about a month for work so they did everything. I put in a door then they had to take it down and made too many holes so the sheetrock had to be replaced. I was so happy with it and they came back and did a walk through and there were a couple of little things that were to fix and they fixed them right away. They had pride in their work and they were very involved in the project to make sure it is perfect and that would make me recommend them in a heart to friends and family in a heartbeat and I have. They cleaned the vents in the filters and I did not ask them to and they did it. They were thoughtful, and amazing. They did everything beyond expectations.
