I purchased a KIA Soul in October 2011. The vehicle came with a one month trial for Sirius Satellite Radio. After one month I opted to discontinue the service. At that point I was offered a 6 month subscription at $5 per month which I accepted with one condition - that there will be no "automatic renewal" of the subscription. The Sirius representative assured me that there would be no auto renewal and directed me to my account on their website to verify that auto renewal was "off", and it was "off". At the end of the six month discounted subscription Sirius billed me $92+ for an additional 6 months. I called and informed the Sirius agent that I had accepted the 6 month discounted subscription under one condition - that it would not automatically renew and in fact they did not
automatically charge my credit card, which is indicates that they were not authorized to automatically renewal. The representative told me all subscriptions auto renew. He reduced the amount due to $15 which also indicates to me that this is a scam to wring money out of people who fall into the trap of accepting their discounted subscription and incorrectly assuming that Sirius is honest.
Siriusis now billing a late fee of $5 per month - 25% of the amount due. In 12 months their scam late fee billing will total $60 plus the original $15. In other words 400% of the original bill.

We don't even get service in our car. The waiting is very long. You are put through automated system after automated system. You wait and wait and it is very hard to talk to a human being. When we finally go through, the customer service represents we talked to were not as knowledgeable as we thought they should be. After the third or fourth representative that we talked to we finally got a representative that told us that they could not get a signal to our auto radio. I didn't think the price was fair, but my husband did. There might be places where there is not a problem at all and I don't like to bad mouth them.

I canceled my Sirius radio account in February 2009. Sirius started charging my account again without my authorization for the charges. They stated that my account was only suspended. My understanding was that I had canceled the account since I no longer had the radio. They started billing again on October 2009. Then monthly thereafter. I contacted customer service to inquire about the charges and to receive reimbursement for the charges. I was told by a supervisor (very unprofessional) that they can only reimburse me for 3 months. I want reimbursement for the remaining amount of $93.39

I talked to the representative (very professional) for few moments, and asked to be transferred to supervisor. After spending 20 mins. on the phone with him, I was no where in getting my problem resolved. I want to make sure that if you buy anything (and I would recommend you do not), that they are looking to make a bundle to keep their company afloat. Do not expect that they will be willing to work with you in any way, they keep going back to the Terms and conditions (that no doubt a lawyer had fun writing up, as it is long winded, and meant to keep you from the truth) and that there was nothing he could do for me. I am expecting a call back in 48 hours (nice response time).

When I purchased my previous vehicle, it included an introductory trial subscription to Sirius Satellite Radio. I converted to the paid subscription after the trial expired, and continued it until I sold the vehicle. At that point, I informed the vendor that I was canceling my subscription, and was unsure if I would resume it for the new vehicle I purchased. I was offered a replacement radio, and the subscription was "suspended." This action resulted in the subscription reactivating several months later, as I discovered when the automatic payments for it began appearing again on my credit card statements. I notified the vendor promptly that I had not yet installed the replacement radio, and requested a refund of the charges for the subscription I had not yet reactivated. This was done, and I continued to ponder whether or not to resume my subscription, via the replacement radio I had been sent. Again, after a few months time, charges for the service began appearing on my credit card account, although I had not yet installed the radio nor gotten the service to reconnected. Again, I notified the vendor of the error, but was informed only a partial, "courtesy" refund was permitted. I appealed to my credit card company, who assumed the remaining charge of about $8.00, which had already been paid. The larger, $12 amount was still a pending charge, and it is that charge the radio company credited to my account, as an exception to their rule. My costs were finally reimbursed, but only because my credit card company gave me a credit at their own expense after Sirius refused to refund all the charges for the unused, unactivated radio service.
