We are a local New York City furniture repair and restoration company with offices in Manhattan and Brooklyn serving the entire 5 boroughs and Long Island. I have over 20 years of experience in Upholstery Service. Our management and staff have vast knowledge and experience in the furnishings industry. Our customer base grows by the day; they range from the public sector, importers, insurance companies and celebrities through to the government sector. ReUpholstery NYC did a beautiful job repairing my dining room chairs! ReUpholstery did a great job of explaining the fees when they came to see the chairs (to give me an accurate quote) and they completed the chairs within the timeframe they quoted. Great service, great customer support! I can't say enough nice things about ReUpholstery NYC-do reach out if you're looking to have any furniture reupholstered as I'll be back for more work to be done on worn pieces of furniture!

It should have been a red flag when Eli shows up and asks for both a pen and a piece of paper to write down the details of our order. The price seemed about right but the quality of the work was lacking. This is the second time we reupholstered our mid-century loveseat by another firm and expected equal quality given all the positive reviews we saw online. Unfortunately we were disappointed with the work that was done. When Eli delivered the loveseat I sat on one side and it felt firm, like we expected, and thought nothing of sitting on the other side. About a week later both sides felt like they did before the work was done, sagging when we sat down. We checked the invoice and it clearly stated repair/replace springs. That did NOT happen. So we emailed and at first no response, then a response and then a date/time was set, and then changed by Eli. And then NO response. I would suggest staying clear of this firm as the chances of getting a poor result is magnified when the company, who promises customer satisfaction, fails to follow-up and make good the work that was supposed to be done the first time. I have contacted my credit card company about this matter, as this is not what you expect to happen.

Although they ultimately did a good reupholstery job, DO NOT believe all the positive reviews for Reupholstery NYC. I have used other re-upholsterers over the past 40+ years, but my experience with Reupholstery NYC was by far the worst I’ve ever experienced. I would give them minus stars if I could. Things started off well when their representative came to my apartment in mid-October with multiple fabric books, giving me plenty of options for reupholstering my full-size sofa bed. After I made my selection, he checked and learned the fabric was available in their NJ factory (I live in NY city), which meant, he said, that the job could be completed in 3-4 weeks. About three weeks after they picked up my sofa bed (in late-October), I sent a non-urgent email simply seeking an update on my project’s progress. I received an email saying my sofa bed was "in line for production." A week before Thanksgiving, I reached out to the rep who had come to my apartment and told him I was expecting out-of-town company the second week in December and he assured me my sofa bed would be delivered in time. A week after Thanksgiving, which was six weeks after the sofa bed had been picked up, I had heard nothing else from the rep or the company – no updates, no news that there had been production problems, nothing. I was getting concerned and reached out again to the rep who came to my apartment, but this time, he neither answered nor returned my call. I then sent an email to the company and this time was told that “the work is in progress" and they "hoped to have it back to me by early next week" (the week I was expecting my company). I replied to that email, cc-ing the rep who came to my apartment, reiterating the entire time line (starting in mid-October) as well as his reassurances, expressing my distress that a 3-4-week project was now in its sixth week with no explanation and no confirmed delivery date, and asking for any information. No one replied to me for several days, and when I finally heard from them, seven weeks after the sofa bed had been picked up, I was told my sofa bed would be delivered one day before my company arrived. I view their lack of concern about their customer’s distress and their lack of communication, especially after requests for updates, as highly unprofessional, and I would not recommend Reupholstery NYC unless you have no finite timeline for your project’s completion and are OK with their lack of communication.

I am happy to recommend ReupholsteryNYC. I dealt with Eli and it was a pleasure. I sent him pictures of my chair and he quoted me a fair price. I supplied my own fabric and arranged with him to have the chair and fabric picked up from my apt. If you need a COI, he will provide that, too. Eli said the chair would be ready for delivery in three weeks and it was! I am very pleased with the work that ReupholsteryNYC did. They were very professional with sending me the invoice. I am now looking for fabric for reupholstering 10 dining room chairs and as soon as I have it I will be sending my chairs to Eli at ReupholsteryNYC to continue their good work. My favorite chair after 10 years began to deteriorate. This “leather” chair purchased 10 years ago began to flake and chip. Refused to let it go it’s just to comfortable. Read this companies reviews and gave them a call. They’re very responsive, came promptly & had a huge array of samples both cloth and leather. They had an exact match in leather and the price was great. They removed and delivered the chair with care. I’m so happy with this company and highly recommend them. Will definitely use them for any other reupholstery projects that I might need. Thank you.

1/27/2023 It is a pleasure to write a review for Reupholstery NYC. The work, the concern and the cooperation were all there. We submitted three pieces to be reupholstered. The Queen Anne sofa came back beautifully upholstered with brocade fabric. the King chair and a small ottoman were also perfect. This job--which I initially thought required complete reupholstery--turned into onsite repairs. Eli at ReUpholstery NYC asked for photos of the chairs, which led him to recognize that one person could rework the opened areas. We agreed on what I believe was a fair price and set a date and time. Eddie came promptly with the necessary tools and completed everything in about 2 hours time. The structural repair was great but the chair was returned to me with a golf ball sized hole next to the headrest. I assume the hole happened during transit returning the chair to me. I wrote them explaining that I was upset about the hole but could still use the chair because I have an antimacassar that will cover it up. They did a good job putting the existing upholstery back in place but missed tacking it also in a very visible place which I sewed in place myself and is also covered by the antimacassar. I’m very pleased by the structural repair but feel that the 3 problems (hole, upholstery not completely reaffixed and lack of response or apology when I complained) outweigh the positive.

Charged $550. for routine simple job! Charged $75. for delivery! Charged $400. to replace bare inside seat cushion! Promised to bring back in 2to3weeks. Called 15 times. No one available. Finally got the man who took the chair and wanted to know when it was be delivered. Said he would get back to me in 20 minutes. Never heard from him again. Called the office, after many more calls, someone said he would look in to it and call me back. Never called back. I informed Angi of the situation. Same day, finally heard that chair is ready but the cushion wasn't available until some time in October. I told him that I want the chair with my original cushion, and that he had plenty of time to cancel the cushion he ordered. He said I would have to pay for the cushion. I said I would not. The chair is supposed to arrive in 3 days. Wish me luck!

Was really debating whether it would be worth it to have these folks put stuffing in a 10 -year old Room & Board couch but it really looks and feels like new. Great service, they picked it up and dropped it off in the scheduled windows. Very responsive by email and phone.

I highly recommend this company for reupholstering chairs. Their prices are reasonable and their work is excellent. They even respond to your texts, emails or phone calls very quickly. They recommended websites of companies they use where you can browse hundreds of photos of upholstery fabric-- sites you wouldn't know about. Since they were able to take away just the seats of my chairs there was no pick up or delivery charge. I would definitely use them again. Regarding cost: I chose fabric that cost a total of $200 + $90/chair.

ReUpholstery did a perfect job to my specifications, on a timely basis and including pick up and delivery. Some of their processes are a little quirky - don't get put off if they don't identify the business name when you call for instance. But we are very satisfied with the job they did. Terrific. Mike came to pick them up a few days after our initial contact. The cushions came back within two weeks and are beautiful. They were even able to salvage down from the old seats to plump up the back cushions. All in in all, it looks like a new sofa, all done for a great price as promised. Will definitely call them for our next project.

The work was superb. We provided the fabric, and Mike picked up the furniture at one apartment, performed the work, then delivered it to another as requested. The work was more like reinvigoration than mere reupholstery -- new cushions, new pillows (including several with excess fabric from the armchair), even refinishing the arms of the chair where 15 years of use had worn away the wood stain. He performed the work on time and at the agreed-upon price, no surprises, everything done exactly as it should be. I wish other businesses were as good and as easy to deal with as Reupholstery NYC!
