Mr Sandless Manhattan

Mr. Sandless was punctual and professional. Our floor was in rough shape and he told us honestly what he could and could not do for the floor. He was careful with our doors, he taped the quarter-rounds and protected the floor leading into the room where he was working. Unfortunately, when he was done a small section of the floor finish was damaged by rain that came in through an open window. He came back, inspected the damage, and returned the next day to repair that section, and to recoat the entire floor--not just that one section. No hassle whatsoever. When he was finished the floor looked great and we were able to walk on it right away--no waiting. We are very pleased.

Started well with congeniality and assurance floor will come out great. Offered a convincing warranty that made me feel there was no fear in his work or product. Unfortunately, his work was satisfactory for someone that is inexperienced or if I did it myself. He made my expectations so high that the finished product was only adequate. There were blemishes throughout the floor-thru from scraping, differing stain colors, varnish and top coat to match existing wood color. Some areas were shiny and other areas were dull. He came twice to correct but it still was not consistent. I still have old and new blemishes, and pre-existing scratch marks. If you have a few more dollars then go with a professional sander, deal with the headache of wood dust clean up, but be satisfied with the pristine look of refinished floors with no scratches to qualify. This sandless technique is nothing more than an expensive wood floor deep cleaning and shiny top coat.

It was a nightmare from start to finish and remains so.
You cannot believe anything this company tells you they will do (and they will promise you a LOT!):  from "You won't believe how quickly the work will be done--4-5 hours tops", (they arrived at 9am and didn't leave until after 1AM--our family was trapped in my son's bedroom through the night until we had to move all the furniture and their contents back into the apartment at midnight) to their often-reiterated "guarantee" on their work (we were in touch with the sales manager for two months following their "service" who continued to promise we "weren't being forgotten" and that they would "make it right", until he stopped taking our calls and later never responded to the Better Business Bureau).
The most important part for the work for us was to have a strong sealant on the floors to prevent any future damage.  (Our assurance from them was "You'll be able to drop an anvil on it when we're done".)  Not only is the sealant inadequate, it's as if there is no sealant at all--we now have to walk only in socks throughout the house and have guests do the same, and STILL the floors are deteriorating daily.  
On top of this, some areas of the floor became basically "Giraffe spotted" from the unevenness of the finish they used.
Avoid this company at all costs.

Mr. Sandless is an eco-friendly company. My overall experience with them was very positive. They were responsive and neat.
