They have been responsive and prompt in their followup, and assisted in providing further testing to demonstrate that there was an ongoing leak -- at present unresolved and not yet remediated.
The firm has also prepared and submitted a proposal for remediation, promptly responding to the project manager's bid deadline.
I fully recommend the firm.
"Inspecting the HVAC system is a standard part of any indoor environmental inspection. A mold growth condition was identified on one of the fan-coil AC/heating unit covers, and as a Certified Industrial Hygienist, Mr. Sothern is ethically bound by to report any conditions identified during our inspection that may adversely affect occupant health. The member demanded that we omit this finding from our report, which would have been a violation of our ethical code. Our report included this finding and a detailed scope of remediation work that the member was encouraged to put out for bids from other contractors. The necessary scope of work went beyond merely using Fantastick and Tilex on the fan-coil cover. The cover needed to be encapsulated, the fan-coil unit needed to be cleaned/disinfected, and a sleeve needed to be installed to prevent future condensation-related mold growth. We have been in business for 17 years, and are one of the most experienced and qualified indoor environmental firms in NYC. Always putting occupant health first and being thorough are two of the reasons that we have earned an excellent reputation."
