Great! I called him on Monday for a quote. He was punctual, polite and professional. The work was done on Wednesday. When I came home in the afternoon, the work was already in progress. It was completed within the time frame promised and it looks beautiful. The project was explained in full detail, so that I could understand. Mr. McGavin and his workers were honest, trust-worthy. The job was done exactly as promised and they did a thorough clean-up afterwards.

Was told they would be there between eight and nine at 8:30 they begin their work three persons

We noticed recently that our roof was leaking where water started dripping down the inside of the walls. We called to get an estimate & were scheduled quickly. On the day of the estimate, they said they could start working on the roof that day which we appreciated. They not only fixed the hole in the one area that was the result of the leak, but they also sealed the entire roof to prolong its life for an estimated 10-15 years, along with some gutter work. Since then it's rained a few times here, & our walls are not leaking anymore. On a side note to show their integrity & thoughtfulness: I recently had a medical procedure so we put a sign on the door not to ring our doorbell as I'm recovering. At one point during the day, they needed an outside electric outlet to continue their work (my house is very old & does not have one). Instead of ignoring the sign, they waited around an hour to get in contact with my husband over the phone, which I was extremely thankful for. Overall wonderful experience with this skilled, courteous, nice, professional company.

The workers came by 8:30. They were basically done by 2:30 and did a decent clean up. I did ask the workers to take pictures and send them to my phone which they did.

The day they came to do tha appraisal-they were able to put a new roof on. Mr McGavin was very professional, knowledgeable and pleasant. He explained everything in terms I could understand. His price and warranty were extremely reasonable. I would highly recommend him. His workers were pleasant and after they completed the job, everything was clean.

John and his team handled all the needed roofing tasks very efficiently - and all on the same day . I was very pleased with their detailed workmanship.

Of all the quotes we received, his prices weren't the most expensive nor the cheapest. But his communication was prompt and he was able to come out quickly to do the repair work. We decided not to go with a full roof replacement at the time, so his men identified and repaired the areas that needed patching and followed up with further work until the leaks stopped. Previous roofers we used were not as professional nor successful in solving the same problem area by our skylight. Since then we have been using McGavin Roofing on our other properties as well to do annual roof maintenance and repairs over the past few years. I would gladly recommend his company and will follow up with photos of some recent work done.

Worked out ok although I went with someone else.

It was a near perfect experience with Mc Gavin. They arrived exactly on time and gave me a reasonable estimate. They did the work right then and were quick, clean, polite and professional. There were no hidden costs or surprises and they even helped me with my Angie's list enrollment. Couldn't be happier.

Arrived unexpectedly as a followup of work done last year, pointed out cracking tiles and inappropriate gutter size. Did the work the same afternoon and cleaned up after the work was finished

You know you need roof repairs but don't know where to start. McGavin Roofing was working on a neighbor's roof (houses are attached with flat roofs) and saw our skylight area and two other places on our roof were holding water and the water was seeping under cracks in the roof tar. So John and John, Jr. knocked on our door and asked if we wanted the problems repaired. At first we said "No', but then I went and checked them on Angie's list and decided - Why not. The work needed to be done and they had a good rating. Very glad we made the call to go ahead. John, Jr. took before pictures to show us the work needed and then after pictures to show completed work. Very nice job.
Gave us written guarantee for five years.
I cannot comment on the cost as I have no other estimate to compare it to for the work done.  I feel it is the correct price you would pay for the amount of work done.
The specifications on the contract are as follows:
"To cut out back section, replace any bad or damaged wood, then install new "firestone" rubber roof on back. Seal around skylight, then coat roof with aluminum asphalt roof coating.
For the sum of $3200.00
Good for five years"
The following work was also done:
1) the front roof leak was repaired
2) screws were replaced to hold the gutter to the roof
3) cracked roof tiles were fixed and sealed
As the saying goes ..  "the proof is in the pudding" (whatever that really means) ... when we next have a heavy rain and nothing leaks, I know it will be a job well done.
