Although Almondo was delayed by traffic and parking issues in NYC, once he arrived he worked with confidence and a strong knowledge base. He quoted a price for installing a 220, 30 amp outlet for a clothes dryer and stayed with that price. He cleaned up after the work was done and indicated that the work was guaranteed. I am very pleased with the job done..

Very professional about scheduling, calling ahead, cleaning up. Most importantly, the work was done quickly with some great advice on added functionality for my track lights.

I had had a short as well as an overload problem with a breaker and got a different company at first because it was an emergency. They more or less fixed the problem (leaving one room not fixed) and told me to do rewiring and replace my old breaker box with a larger one would cost around 5000 and that there was a real danger if i did not. I checked all this on line and discovered that they were quoting way too much. I chose Mike because of 30 positive reviews on Home Advisor for the company and the fact that he did not charge to come and take a look and give me a quote. He did everything for 1400, worked on a Sunday, told me exactly what was needed and why honestly, worked all afternoon and fixed everything, offered to fix for free two other broken lamps and is obviously a terrific electrician (28 years experience though he doesn't look more than 40). Phoning was a little tricky--the Mayfair number and his were sometimes interchangeable sometimes not and I was unable to hook up with the office to speak with someone directly a couple of times.

Mike came (through terrible traffic btw) to diagnose and fix an electrical issue we had on one circuit. I called him after my regular electrician failed to show. Mike was courteous, efficient, a real expert in locating the exact problem. He fixed it and took a look at another box we became concerned about given what he found. If the other electricians in Mayfair's office are as good and professional as Mike, they deserve 5 stars all around. Thanks Mayfair.

Someone called me right away and was at my apartment in 20 mins. Fixed my light/celing fan fixture in about 15 mins. Very friendly and considerate.

Michael was a very friendly competent electrician who found the cause of the problem and immediately repaired it. We were very pleased with his service, the cost, etc. Now delays happen to everyone, I simply would have appreciated a call before the agreed-upon time for an update. On the other hand another website indicated that electricians are often 80% late to their appointments. In any case, a job well done, and I'm happy.

It's rare that you find the best price is also the highest quality. But that's Mayfair Services and Michael Gelfat. They were prompt, professional, friendly and they handled my somewhat complicated lighting project with ease. They even dealt with the ridiculous requirements of my building (lots of paperwork, insurance forms, etc.). If you have any electrician/lighting needs, I can't recommend them enough!
