MANHATTAN HOUSEKEEPING PLUS

When I spoke to the owner of the business, and told her that the houskeeper had accidentally thrown out my winter coat, she told me that it absolutely could not have happened and accused my nanny and employees of my building of stealing it.  I told her that was preposterous and that the houskeeper was the only person who came on a weekly basis and had permission to enter the master bedroom.  I also told her that I did not "lose" my coat.  You don't "forget" a winter jacket when it is cold outside.  I checked every single place that I had travelled to in the past several months and no place had any record of my winter coat in lost and found.  I told the manager of the service that I would like to get reimbursed for the coat.  It cost over $1,000.  She told me she wouldn't do it because I couldn't prove anything and hung up on me.  I fired the housekeeper and the agency.  Subsequently, I have emailed the owner twice and did not get a response back.  I asked her why it was an issue to reimburse me since she should be licensed, bonded, and insured.  But I got no response.  Which makes me believe that she isn't licensed, bonded, and insured.  Needless to say, after having been a loyal customer of this service for 9 years, it is unfortunate that this is the way that they treat customers.  I am exploring legal options in this matter.  I do NOT recommend this service and it should not be trusted.
