Description of Work: I've been going there for lampshade replacements for over 20 years and I'm always able to find the lampshade I need. I have several Stifel lamps and the shades are not easy to find anywhere else.

Description of Work: Excellent selection and quality, plus a helpful staff. Prices are a little high, but it' worth it.

Description of Work: "Just Shades is a lampshade (and shade hardware) store, so their focus is retail rather than providing services. But they do provide excellent service as part of their mission. The store has an expansive selection of standard-size lampshades in a wide array of shapes, styles and materials (paper, linen, burlap, silk, silk string, metallics, etc.). If you have a standard-sized sconce, table lamp or floor lamp, you will find a wealth of shade choices here. Just Shades is also in frequent contact with their suppliers, so you can get shades in custom sizes or materials made quickly. The store also features harps in a wide range of sizes and finials in a number of styles and materials. They serve both design professionals and civilians, their shades are well made, and their prices are reasonable. I went in looking for new shades for three table lamps, which I did not bring in. I was free to wander around the store for about 45 minutes. I was offered help several times but preferred to browse myself. I purchased three shades (2 medium, 1 very large), two harps, and a fancy finial for about $230, and the staff carefully packed the shades with wadded up paper for the trip home on the subway. I was told that the store did not offer refunds, but that I could return any shade in its original cellophane packaging either for exchange or for store credit. I returned with one shade, which I exchanged, then I returned again with that shade and the lamp, since I still hadn't gotten it right. A staffer suggested shades for the lamp in several shapes, materials and colors, brought them up to the counter, and tried each one on my lamp, swapping out harps to adjust the shade height as necessary, and offering to plug in the lamps so that I could see the light quality with each shade."
