If you wish the services of a master technician, head tech of Steinway and personal tuner of Arrau and other legends, he is definitely worth it. He completely transformed my old Steinway. Into a brilliant concert instrument. No other technician, and I have had some of the best, could ever pull this off.

Description of Work: Found him on your list. Needed for tuning of small old Samik piano, for which tuning I always paid 110. To compare I have also a Steinway model M at my home which is tuned by my Steinway specialist. who charges me 170 for that piano. Ingo was full of himself, talked a lot and when he finished charged me 700. I didn't want to put up a fight in my apartment in the presence of my very sick husband. I paid and felt like a fool afterwards. My friend, a pianist, says she knows of him and he had a bad reputation. He very clearly ripped me off big time. Had I not had other things on my plate I would have taken this up further with him. He is a con-artist who cashed my check immediately.

I lived in NY most of my life. Moved to NJ in 2004. So, from roughly 1995 to about 2003, I used Ingo as my only piano tuner. He was always very professional, punctual, a delight as a person. Most importantly he's a master at his craft. My piano sounded amazing when he serviced it all those years. You cannot go wrong. In fact, I miss him terribly out here in Central NJ because no one has tuned my piano with his level of precision in years. It just isn't the same. He is not only expert at making sure your piano is in tune but he also does what he can to get the best quality of sound from your instrument that he can. Hire him if you can.

Mr. Hofmann arrived on time, and as promised, determine the condition of our spinet, told us that he could definitley tune our piano successfully, He told us the cost, and we decided to proceed. Mr. Hofmann then began his work, and was very helpful in relaying to us that our instrument was in good condition and would remained well tuned for quite a while. He also gave us some tips on how to maintain the tuning during the drier winter season. In all, we found Mr. Hofmann, true to his word, very experienced, and very kind.
Description of Work: Mr. Hofmann is an expert piano technician. He is a very experienced craftsman who demonstrates years of knowledge and know-how in tuning pianos. He is a courteous gentleman, who brings a tremendous amount of expertise and ability to his work.

He arrived on time, finished the tuning in a timely manner, was courteous and charming. I especially appreciated the advice he gave me to ensure the piano would stay in tune longer. He also referred me to a reliable, affordable piano mover.
Description of Work: My mother's piano had not been tuned for several years. He came, re-tuned it, and gave me advice so that it would stay in tune longer.
