AVOID unless you have some very simple business - DO NOT BUY PAINT THERE. After spending over $700 dollars on Pratt and Lambert paint to paint my apartment in Brooklyn I get 2 more gallons for $110 on Sunday, August 9th. I wait over 40 minutes for the paint to be mixed - no one is getting paint mixed prior to me. - other employees are asking the American -Indian sub-continent "manager" to find out what is taking so long - this is the same man who in June, wrote down the wrong code and sent me back to Brooklyn with the wrong paint color. He never apologized then and he doesn't make any effort now. He never follows up downstairs - other employees have to call. I ask for a paint spot to be put on each can to check the color. He tells me "Don't worry we can always add more color to correct" - NO YOU CANNOT. You have to start over if the paint is off. This guy is one of the most passive aggressive jerks I have ever encountered. I go back to Ft. Green and start to stir the paint - it has not been shaken even though that was his excuse for and additional 15 minutes of waiting. I call the store - he ask me repeatedly "What do yo want me to do?" WRONG RESPONSE. A Manager should say to a good customer, or anyone with a legitimate concern for that matter "How can I make this better?" The paint is wrong - I have used Pratt and Lambert for over 20 years in 5 apartments and this is wrong - "Oh no, you are mistaken" is his response. The paint is as thin or thinner than water, it is too glossy, ... What a j******. Yea It was a mistake to waste my time and energy traveling to this store when some guy who thinks it is beneath his station to work in a hardware is annoyed that a good customer complains about inferior products and service. If you don't like working in a hardware store then find another job. I would not last a day at my work if I had half the attitude of this man. I lived on Ave. A for 17 years and shopped at this place - I won't spend another dime there. "What do you want me to do?" You have my # - Call me and I will tell you straight up what you can do. If you want c*** service and c*** attitude then by all means visit H. Brickman - Where attitude is free of charge and the customer is wrong.
