"This is an outright lie. We have a lien out against [Member Name Removed] for failure to pay money due. [Member Name Removed] insisted on hiring his own plumber. He rejected the qualified plumbers I suggested. As he is inexperienced he was looking to save money and hired a plumber who showed up, (when he showed up) intoxicated. While we made many attempts to get [Member Name Removed] to handle the situation, he looked to use us as the scapegoat for his inexperience, lack of follow-up and inability to admit he made a terrible error in judgement. The drunk plumber delayed the progress of the work, created an unpleasant working environment. The plumbers work was sloppy and inept, We spent a lot of time trying to fix his mistakes. [Member Name Removed] also would show up and announce that he wanted additional things to be done outside of the original scope of work. We worked diligently to accommodate his demands and address his concerns. His own impatience and ineptness caused the situation to deteriorate. It should be noted that we were called in to his previous residence to fix shoddy work that had been performed by another contractor. We received great praise for our cleanliness, attitude, work skills, patience and the product of our work. We had previously given him a proposal for that job as well. He went for the lowest bidder and paid the price. We came to the rescue and gave him a beautiful and functional bathroom. He has chosen this platform to deride and dismiss our professionalism and to denigrate the quality of our work for a vengeful purpose."
In my experience other contractors will do as instructed and largely will not contribute to thought or design. At worst this can lead to poor decisions and an unsatisfactory end result. James is one of the few who will add his own thoughts, designs, and advice throughout the project. He also has an eye on our budgeting needs and gave a realistic timeline for our work. We appreciate James and his team for the great work, and we will definitely recommend him to our friends.
came off without a hitch. James was respectful of our budget and our time. For meetings he was prepared and well organized. He made efficient use of our time. We needed to move out of the apartment for 3 months and were able to move back at the scheduled time. The project went smoothly. James was extremely responsive to our concerns. He has an exceptional eye to detail. He is very compulsive (a perfectionist!). We would hire him for our next project in a minute. We give him an A+.
James is a professional. He set realistic expectations on timing and pricing for us and, at the conclusion of our project, we finished on time and on budget. He took every effort to keep costs to a minimum while moving the job forward as quickly as possible. Unlike other contractors, James was eager to get started and did not drag his feet at the end of the job. We really appreciated his diligence.
Perhaps the best quality about James is that he is conscientious and thoughtful about his work. He didn't just follow directions and is great with communication. Both during our initial walk through and then throughout the construction process, James would ask important follow-up questions and make recommendations about issues that we hadn't thought of. He would also give us realistic input on what was feasible/not feasible based on our budget. (In contrast, the contractors we have used in the past just gave us and quot;exactly what we asked forand quot; which sometimes wasn't a good idea, and then we would get hit with change orders to remedy the problem.)
In terms of craftsmanship, Jame's work was excellent. He installed new walls and doors constructed beautiful closets, and re-modeled our kitchen cabinets. He has a fine eye for detail and went to great lengths to make sure that the new construction blended with the old construction (for example, James went on a wild goose chase to find matching floor mouldings. He also worked with the super to find identical flooring and stain to match what we had in the apartment.)
Without a doubt, we will be asking James to handle all of our contracting needs in the future.
