This was my first Angie's List experience and it was a great one. I had no idea where I would go to get a professional appraisal. Past experiences in the diamond district were not good ones. It is extremely difficult to know who to trust and many services don't feel professional. G JEZARIAN had an excellent review history on Angie's List, so I took a leap of faith and I'm glad that I did. Gregory is a total professional and an absolute pleasure to work with. He took time to give me a quick education on diamonds and I left knowing way more than I did when I first came in. He's very knowledgeable and has high standards and taste. My repair was done fairly and perfectly. The ring is now properly insured and structurally sound? it's also never looked better. I highly recommend G Jezarian to repair and appraise fine jewelry. In the interest of keeping this description short, I'll start by saying I had a very comfortable, stress-free experience. Now on to the details.
I'm a novice at purchasing jewelry, and went out in search of a jeweler to procure an engagement ring. I spoke with several people, all references from family or friends. Greg was the one I felt most comfortable with. He was very knowledgeable and was very patient to answer all my questions (I think I was in his office for a total of 2 or 3 hours picking out the right design and gemstone between 3 separate visits). Even though my price point was on the low side, Greg spent plenty of time with me answering all of my questions, listening to what I wanted in an engagement ring, and voicing his expert opinion if he thought something wouldn't look right, or wouldn't go along with what I was looking for. Whenever I alluded to or suggested something, he was quick to produce a few examples or brainstorm the idea and provide suggestions as to how we can do it within my budget. He was always extremely flexible in his scheduling to fit me in (and change appointments when work got in the way).
At the end of the day, I got her engagement ring at an excellent price, it came out beautifully, she said yes, and we've already gone back to him to purchase our wedding bands (which is the price identified above). Each time I've been back, he's shown the same patience and careful attention he has on the first day.

Greg is fabulous. I really needed to learn about what I had in order to make an informed decision. He was extremely professional and honest about what I had and what I could expect to get for the jewelry. I think what was so important to me was finding someone who was not only knowledgeable, but also trustworthy. I know he got me the best price for my jewelry. Although I was not there to buy, I found myself mesmerized by his exquisite array of jewelry, a must see. He has excellent taste and a fine eye for both unique pieces and high quality gems. I would highly recommend Greg, especially if you are looking to buy fine quality jewels. I look forward to when I can return to purchase a piece for myself.

From the moment I called Gregory's office, I was impressed. He contacted me when he said he would and was even flexible with scheduling considering my hectic work schedule. When I got to his office, he and his wife were very welcoming. He took the time to teach me about the stones and mounting of the ring that caused it to break. I really appreciated the focused attention and the lesson. Now I know how to take care of my ring properly! I would highly recommend working with Gregory. I know I am going back for my wedding bands very soon.

You know that thrill you feel when you first put on a
sparkling new piece of jewelry? The glint of polished gold or platinum or
silver, the kaleidoscope of colors bouncing off a faceted stone—inspiring words
like “luxury,” “extravagance,” “romance,” and the realization that it all could
be yours? Today that’s how I feel as I look down at the twenty-five-year-old
Tiffany wedding and engagement rings that Greg Jezarian repaired and
rejuvenated for me recently. My jewelry is all this and more.

I came to Greg needing to replace a small diamond in my
channel wedding ring. From the outset, Greg gave my ring, and my husband and
me, his total attention. He was professional, personable, and respectful—no
hard sell here. His expert, careful examination of both of my rings alerted us
to weaknesses in the settings that, if unattended, eventually could have caused
the loss of still more stones. Due to constant wear, the jewelry was also
desperately in need of cleaning and polishing.

Thanks to Greg’s longtime experience, thoroughness,
patience, and “good-guy-ness,” today my rings are structurally sound and are as
dazzling as when I first put them on. Greg matched the diamond impeccably, and
on top of that, he delivered my precious jewelry in a matter of days, not
weeks, and at a reasonable and fair cost. In our opinion, even at twice the
price, the value of dealing with such a knowledgeable and trustworthy gentleman
is still considerable.

One more thing. I also brought Greg an engraved bracelet
that was burnished and worn and that had belonged to my grandmother.
Recognizing the sentimental value and age of the piece, Greg was able to give
it new life, polishing the bracelet while preserving the delicate engraving,
which we discovered dated from one hundred years ago.

Are we satisfied? Without question. Do we recommend this skilled
jeweler? Absolutely. Will we return? Of course, and maybe next time we’ll try
on some of the lovely, tempting new pieces in his exclusive showroom.

He created our beautiful wedding rings, and then when they were lost in a taxi 10 days before the wedding, he was consoling and calm while I was freaking out! Greg wasn't sure if they could be redone in time and he immediately offered to loan us rings for the ceremony. But, they were delivered by FedEx two days early! What amazing service! And, knowing how distressed we were, he discounted the replacement price in the same way he had our original purchase - which was such a help because we were dealing with the bills for our wedding reception(s). He loaned me a gorgeous, multi-strand, vintage faceted-cut ruby necklace (that he had just gotten at an auction) that I wore for my wedding rehearsal and rehearsal luncheon - it matched my vintage ruby engagement ring! I felt so beautiful. He also made the beautiful gold link bracelet that I gave husband as a wedding day present. John loves it and never takes it off! I cannot recommend him too highly! Our wedding was blessed by his care.

The necklace is perfect in every way: style, length, and even price.

He's an excellent listener, and understood exactly what my wife (a designer) had in mind for her custom engagement ring and custom wedding band. Greg helped to make her vision a reality, and even gave us some practical advice that improved the overall design of the rings. She thought she knew what she wanted but came up with something better and even more timeless through her collaboration with Greg. We're really happy with the outcome and she gets compliments on her rings often.

Every word about Jezarian rang true to the one experience I had, when calling him(unwittingly, on his cell phone at home at night when I found him on A.L!) about nothing more lucrative than a repair to an antique seed pearl brooch, he generously reassured me about the interruption and told me to bring the brooch in the next day.
He took my relatively insignificant job seriously, found a woman who specialized in seed pearls and when I came to pick up the brooch, he charged me only the shockingly small amount she had charged him, although he had wrapped it and presented it to me with the infinite care one might have used for the Hope diamond!

I had a bunch of antique jewelry from my mother, some in good shape, some not and some broken pieces. I also had some jewelry repairs and items I wanted to sell. I looked up jewelers on Angie's list and Gregory Jezarian had by far the best reviews and now I understand why. Put simply, Gregory is highly professional, informative and goes well above and beyond the call of duty to help ensure his customers have a smooth and trustful experience. After a few email exchanges, I met with him a few weeks ago to show him everything I had for repair, for appraisal or to get rid. He was very attentive, very informative with great information on each piece I had, providing context, some education so I understood what he planned to do with everything. He provided sound advice on which pieces to work on and which to discard. Today I picked the repaired pieces and they look beautiful, he did superb work. Also, although not his main business, he helped arrange for sales of broken pieces of jewelry or those I wanted to sell. Gregory took care of everything for me that I needed (appraisals, sales and repair) and did a wonderful job. I would highly recommend Gregory Jezarian to anyone who wants to buy or repair jewelry.

A friend recommended us to Greg and we were thrilled in every conceivable way with his service. Greg is incredibly friendly and warm, and instantly treated us like family -- which put us so at ease when making such a big decision. Frankly, we were problem clients: we'd begun shopping for rings just a couple weeks before the wedding, and we weren't certain what we were looking for. But Greg guided us through the process and made everything feel so easy. Most importantly, we never once felt pressured, or that we were taking any risks. Walking out of his office the first time, my fiancee and I agreed he seemed like the most trustworthy jeweler we'd ever seen. It was actually kind of funny -- where's the pushy salesman we'd encountered at every jewelry store in the past?

Greg was, at all times, knowledgeable, helpful, considerate, honest, fair, and amazing. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. He found exactly what I wanted, emailed me many times to answer all of my many questions, and was kind and courteous. I am writing this review because I know how hard it is to find a jeweler in the diamond district that you can trust. If you don't have a connection or recommendation, it is a scary task. I am writing this review because when someone "does right by you", it is important to let people know. Such honesty should be rewarded and the word should spread. Kramer Bros. "did right" by me thirteen years ago, and "did right" by me yet again. I have recommended their services to others in the past, and I would do so again.

In addition, as an interesting aside, I work and live in Connecticut, and can't always get to NYC. Espcially during regular store hours. Greg tried to work around my schedule, and even made sure my ring was ready when I was available to come to NYC. He even met me on the weekend at the store (they happened to be doing some construction so he was there unofficially). He went out of his way for me (even texting me after the appointment about the traffic jam he had heard about that was on my route, and to drive home a different way)!!! And, while he went out of his way for me, I get the strong impression that he would do that for any client.

Overall, a 100% positivie experience and happy to say, a 100% satisfied customer!

I planned to do it only once. Buy an engagement ring, that is. But I also wanted to honor the thoughtfulness of my then-girlfriend (*spoiler alert*) now-fiance Jenny by being thoughtful in the ring's purchase. To be clear, Jenny's a very modest person and wears practically no jewelry, so I wanted her to feel comfortable wearing what would be the first piece of "bling" I'd ever seen on her. From a picture and a description, Greg divined one of the most beautiful pieces of jewelry I'd ever seen. "I believe in my heart, we're going to get here," he said, putting a platinum ring with a deep green emerald lit up by tiny diamonds adorning it on the counter, "but let me show you some stones and settings so that you're comfortable." I knew practically nothing about fine jewelry going in, but the magic word for me is "comfortable," and if Greg's easy-going, humorous demeanor didn't put me at ease--which it did--his insistence that I be 100% committed to my purchase in heart and mind made me instantly trust him. To be fair, he came highly recommended from a trusted friend, but when I decided to take the plunge, I simply wanted to get through the process without being off the mark, given the aforementioned description of my fiance. I never thought I would actually enjoy the process and come away as confident as I did that I had made the right decision. I often come away from gift purchases questioning if I've made the right call--if I've read the person correctly. But from the moment I agreed to make this life-changing purchase (I asked Greg if the exact ring he showed me--a ring he designed himself--had already been spoken for, and he said, "yeah, you") I was truly convinced I--nay, we--had gone in the right direction. That Jenny would not only likewise find it beautiful, but that she'd know I understand her. Flash ahead to the proposal. Yes, she loved it, but practically right after she said "yeth, yeth I'll marry you," (she was wearing her nightguard), she took out her beloved grandmother's family heirlooms--an emerald and diamond-encrusted bracelet and pendant I had never seen--to show me an uncanny match to the ring.

My experience with Greg was phenomenal.

I had shopped around looking for a good jeweler that does custom work and could not find one that i trusted. After all, i was spending a significant sum of money and wanted to be sure i was not being taken advantage of. I had visited about 4 or 5 other jewelers and was always feeling pressured. Each of the other jewelers tried to push me into purchasing something they had in stock and didn't really want to talk to me about what i wanted for my wife.

My sister referred me to Greg after having an excellent experience. I met with him and told him what i wanted. Greg did something that none of the other jewelers were willing to do. He listened. He asked me not about my budget, but about my wife and the kinds of things she liked. He tried to understand who i was buying the gift for before making recommendations instead of figuring out how to make the most off of my sale. On top of all that, Greg was open and honest about the business. He explained the options i had for either buying something custom or picking something off the shelf and the costs involved with each option. He explained details about the various gem stones, setting materials and how the choice of each would affect the final product. We discussed my budget and Greg did something i did not expect. He insisted that i did not have to make a decision at that point and that i should feel comfortable with my choice before committing.

I shook his hand and walked out and thought about it. I felt completely comfortable. It took me a few hours to make up my mind. It was 7:30 pm and i decided to call and leave a message for Greg to let him know i was going to purchase the custom ring and matching bracelet we discussed. Greg answered the phone. He didn't even know it was me. Jewelers don't generally answer the phone that late. I was very impressed.

Greg was very flexible and easy to work with. After giving him my deposit, the ring and bracelet were completed in a week and well within my budget and there was no up-selling. Both were flawless and my wife absolutely loved the gift. She started crying when she opened the box.

I trusted Greg so much that i brought a rare antique gold watch that has been in my family for a long time. My mother could not get it fixed as no one knew how to work on it. It took a lot of convincing, but i got her to trust Greg. When he delivered the ring, i gave him the watch and he was able to repair the watch in about a day. No one else could do it or was willing to do it. Again, very impressed and again, Greg delivered.

Overall, there was absolutely NO PRESSURE. I really felt that Greg believed in his work and believed that doing right by his customer was most important. This is an exceedingly rare trait in any business. I have found a jeweler for life.
