Nyc is one tough town. Finding people who know what they are doing and are good communicators and are rock-hard reliable are rare. And add to that the attribution of honesty coming in below estimates and it's a rare breed. HVAC is notoriously hard to obtain good honest reliable and skilled help My experience with Elias at divergent HVAC technologies fulfilled all that criteria after a long frustrating and annoying search. I'm not doing Elias a favor being his first reviewer. I'm doing you a favor

Heat Pump Repair

Elias is a real gem. He’s very knowledgeable and very thorough. He carefully explains what he plans to do and why. In doing his work, he spotted safety issues that had been ignored by prior contractors, and he came up with efficient solutions. He has been extremely responsive every time I have contacted him. He has also been very helpful in talking through options and in suggesting minor repairs I can do on my own. I could not recommend him more highly.

It went very good.

When I called to get a quote, he mentioned unfortunately that they do not normally do work in NJ. However, he still inquired about my issue and tried to help me troubleshoot the problem over the phone. He was very patient and went step by step to troubleshoot what was wrong with the boiler and eventually was able to solve my problem! If I ever have another issue, I would not hesitate to call Divergent HVAC Solutions LLC again.

Reviewing for work done in the past, but time has given me insight as to what occurred in that situation. Two years forward, I feel compelled to voice my displeasure for how that situation unfolded. In hindsight, I believe that Elias over complicated the situation with my air conditioners and turned it into a big diagnostic search for an issue...the issue did not exist. I like Elias. He is polite, prompt, and friendly, but he took advantage of this situation. I believe that most of the time he is very straight forward as these reviews seem to reflect, but there was a temporary lapse for my particular case. I was overcharged, nothing was wrong with my system, and that is now clear. I mentioned a leak on the line and he really ran with it to conduct a battery of tests that were unnecessary and made everything seem quite complicated. He ran some tests, looked inside the unit, recharged it...none of it was really necessary. After having my system checked annually and never incurring any issues, it is clear that testing for leaks, etc. was part of his system to justify his fee. I was so desperate to have the system fixed (as the air was still not blowing cold in all places) that I asked him to keep investigating. He declined as he knew that there was nothing really wrong with my system. In subsequent year, I have had an annual seasonal AC check out the system, that a simple cleaning solved my problem. I was a mark for his service and upsell. As stated, he is very nice and polite, but it was clear that he extracted more money for his service than was necessary and at some point, felt odd enough about the situation to tell me that his wife encouraged him to be straight forward and not to overcharge. As I was willing to pay him more, he declined as I suspect that he knew that he had already taken me for a ride. It happens. I think he is well intentioned, but saw an opening and exploited it.

The repairman was well informed and efficient, gave me excellent advice about future maintenance of the system and explained each step of the problem and what needed to be done about it. He also purchased and installed a new thermostat and waited to see that the system was working well after the repair. I recommend him very highly.

Elias was fantastic. Contacted him about non functioning daikin unit, he solved 90% of the problem over the phone after researching it pretty much the same day. Very responsive and knowledgeable. Will definitely use him in the future.

Elias arrived same day as service call requested and did the entire repair in one hour! He was knowledgable and professional. Knew exactly where to look, what to test and how to reset/repair. Along the way, he explained what he was doing and all the "little" stuff that I should know to keep up with maintenance. He was courteous and professional, and the whole experience was very pleasant! p.s. He even sent me a text reminding me to change the filter regularly next day!

Came on time as promised. Work was performed promptly and correctly. Price was very fair. Will use again.

Elias and his colleague were super prompt -arriving within an hour of my call - and had the problem fixed in 45 minutes. They even showed me how to resolve the problem in future and how to avoid it (by changing the filters sooner and buying a pump to clear the lines myself plus some hot water in the lines to flush any residual blockage ). I was very pleased with their efficiency, helpfulness and overall pleasant and prompt service. I'd definitely recommend them!!!

Tested current systems to find source of the noise, including testing condensate pump and hosing. Found noise to being reverberated down through roof of the condo building into an echo chamber, building up in our wall. Elias was very easy to get along with and thought laterally to find the source of the problem. Knew the systems and AC units really well and didn't ignore our concerns, even though noise is hard to pinpoint. Would hire again.

Elias initially asked questions that he thought might troubleshoot my lack-of-cooling over the phone -- wow free telephone advice.  When he determined that a service call was required, he quoted the service call and made appointment through txt messaging.   He & and assistant showed up five minutes early(!), was professional and courteous.  I thought both units needed some servicing, but he showed me that the one unit was functioning perfectly well and did not need cleaning or anything after taking off covers and inspecting.

The other A/C had a broken part and his explanation made sense (could hear both fan and compressor, but one part was not allowing coolant to flow).  He quoted me a price for the repair that was $300 (incl service call) and that he could return within the hour to complete the job.  And that he did.  Gave receipt.

I was completely satisfied and highly recommend his service.

Elias was so wonderful to work with from beginning to end. We asked him to come in for a free estimate and he went above and beyond that! He was so informative and showed us the best cost effective way to go about getting the most out of our AC unit(s) without spending little to no money.

Ellias was absolutely FANTASTIC!!  He literally showed up within 15 minutes of me first calling to make the appointment!! We had numerous questions that he fully explained in depth and gave us a number of tips and quick fixes that will definitely save us money in the future.  We have never had such a smooth and informative experience.  We will definitely be returning customers!! I worked with BESCO GENERAL ELECTRICAL INC. on two separate occasions. Back in August the central air stopped working in my Condo. Elias was able to come out that day and diagnose what was wrong. After a few tests he determined the compressor was frozen. Given the unit was ~20 years old he suggested replacing the the entire heat exchanger since the cost wouldn't be that much more than just replacing the compressor. I paid him for his visit and he gave me a few tips on where to look for replacement units.
The unit took a few months to be custom made. It was a drop in replacement with the same dimensions and hardware/electrical as the old unit. Elias showed up on time and swapped out the old with the new and took the old away to be disposed of. He walked me through how to care and maintain the new system along with suggestions about adding a water sensor incase there ever is a leak. Best part is he credited what was paid in the original assessment to the installation work. 
I'm also planning to replace the thermostat with a more modern one and he also offered to talk me through replacing the thermostat over the phone for free if I run into any issues. 
There was one minor issue that I found about a week after installation. He came out the next morning and took care of it. 
He took the time to answer all my questions and really makes an effort to explain the problem, solution and how to maintain your heating and cooling system. Overall very happy with his service and would use him again if the need ever arises

Good communications. Great service. Fair price

Elias got non functioning air conditioners working and showed us how to resolve some issues by ourselves. He followed up several times to see how things were working. I recently had another Company come in who wanted to sell us a $7500 annual maintenance contract not including any parts and before doing any repairs. I highly recommend Besco.

Elias has done 2 major jobs for me -not to mention several other small ones. He's nailed it every time. He repaired my Freon leak and replaced a condenser, re-did my HVAC and Boiler wiring (which were incorrectly wired together on the same circuit) and then, after I drilled a screw through my thermostat wiring, replaced my blow transformer. Through everything he walked me through how to do it myself in the future. Having called some other electricians, he's a fair price (not the cheapest) but I'm pretty sure he's best value. 
It's true: he's not going to work with other contractors (so just don't schedule them together -they'll just get in each other's way in NYC sized apartments anyway). He's also not a fan of the Nest -but maybe that will change. It may not be a perfect product, but we're only going to see more in the marketplace ;)

I needed service for a Mitsubishi  air conditioner as it was vibrating badly & running below par.
I phoned Besco for a service call.
They  understood the problem & could fix it but, said that I could probably do it myself. They clearly explained the way to do it & I said I would try....had to phone back 2 more times for explanations which they gave .
With their expert advice, I fixed the problem myself.
 Not only did they charge nothing for their advice, they were  very polite & patient . I saved hundreds of dollars.

Elias was a real pleasure to work with. I called him late on a Friday afternoon after seeing his positive feedback/reviews and he listened patiently to my explanation of the issues we are having, asked all the right questions and took the time to advise me on ways to attempt to get the water heater functioning on my own (check breaker, reset button, etc) without him coming out. This was especially appreciated because I previously had two plumbers come to assess the issues and both determined - without even opening our water heater - that we needed to replace the unit without question and their estimates ranged from $2k-$3k. Keep in mind that this is without them even taking a close enough look to know what model we have or require for our needs so it was refreshing to speak with Elias who attempted every possible avenue to save time, money and effort. 
After speaking, he asked me to follow up with him once I was able to try all of his suggestions so we kept an ongoing conversation through the weekend via text. (Our situation is pretty unique because our water heater is blocked by the plumbing of our kitchen sink so it is almost impossible to get to without taking pipes apart). He remained patient and responsive through out and because I was not able to get it working with his suggestions, he agreed to come out on Monday.
He arrived early and prepared. After actually opening the unit , he realized that there were loose wires which someone had previously taped in place (we are new owners and just moved in three weeks prior). The heat from the unit melted the adhesive from the tape which caused the loss of hot water. He was able to put the wires back in place and used utility ties to hold it in place, explaining that this would be a longer term fix and that even though the wires were lose, he didn't see the need to replace the unit as it was fully functioning at this time. It was such a relief to hear that there wasn't a huge issue with the unit and to pay such a reasonable and fair fee after the experience I had with other service providers. 
Overall, my experience working with Elias was great and I will definitely contact him again for any future needs. It is obvious that he takes pride in his work and operates with honesty and integrity.

Highly recommended!! It is pleasing to find a knowledgable mechanic who is not out to get every buck. Elias generates trust in his clients.

Elias was vey personable and knowledgeable. He found the problem immediately and got me and replacement thermostat in a day. I will definitively use his services again
