Brad Pressman architect was all about form without function. It took more than 7 months to get the paperwork done to start demolition and 7 months after completion to get a sign off so I could get back my deposit. In a 600sq ft apt he lowered ceilings 7", illuminated the worst parts of the apt, made it difficult to reach top shelves, difficult to change bulbs, difficult to remove the a/c cover for servicing. His poor research about installing showers led to weeks of wasted time and an extra 2K and all we did was replace the tub. His lack of research on the closets led to poor design and wasting my time (and money). The glass insert on the bathroom door he repeatedly said would not cause problems with shadows leaves little to the imagination of my guests sitting at the dining room table. I paid for things not used or never discussed or that had to be replaced. It was 18 horrendous months that have left me with a lot of problems. What a horror!
Description of Work: Brad Pressman was to design this small one bedroom to give a feeling of contemporary space while utilizing as much storage as possible. Every room but the kitchen was to be redesigned for w/c access. He was to help obtain a contractor and deal with the DOB. He would work with the contractor during the construction. I can't read the designs but he apparently expected me to. When I turned on the light switch at the front door and the lights went on at the entryway, the foyer, a spot light by the dining/kitchen, the dining room, and the living room. All those lights were either on or off. When I protested he told me it was right there in the design, When I said the light also illuminated the skimmed popcorn ceiling and it looked extremely uneven and poorly done, he told me I was only contracted to skim the ceiling. If I wanted it done better I would have to pay more. Didn't realize I had to write in to the contract that it was to be done well. Ceilings lowered, floors raised and crooked, designs I never saw. It was a disaster.
