 + -1 moreThe project started in March '06 with our initial meeting. The design phase was delayed over the summer due to Mr. Ferraro having medical problems and he was generally slow to complete the designs. We signed with the contractor he recommended (separate contract) in September '06. Work did not begin until April '07 due to slow DOB approval of the plans-even with an expediter. At this point, the contractor gave us an estimate of 8 - 10 weeks. The job went well through demo, then there were periods where weeks would go by without any work done. When I began to express concern about the pace of the work, Deno was completely dismissive. Every month we were told a new completion date and Deno would not assist in moving the project along. The responsibility to manage the project fell on me. Deno's communication worsened with insulting and condescending emails. The project was finally completed September 07. We seriously regret hiring him and feel it was a waste of money.
Description of Work: Deno created the design for a major kitchen renovation and adding a new bathroom to the downstairs of our duplex apartment. He presented his design and an estimate of the cost for all the products and materials selected. He selected/recommended the contractor for project and the architect to complete the drawings for approval with the DOB. He coordinated with the contractor the delivery of products and materials to the contractor's warehouse or to the job site. He made periodic visits to the project to become generally familiar with the progress of the work and to determine if the contractor is proceeding in accordance with the design. He would keep us informed as to the billing due for himself and the contractor and miscellaneous other services.
