Very pleased with service. Owner came and picked up and returned machine. Repairs were made within a few days.

The only reason I went to this place is that it was the only place in the area I could find that would do such a job. I've been to them before. They charge way too much, and the work they do is so so. It's an old school place - they do sewing machines, vacuums, etc. One of a kind that's still around. I'll use them only if I have to.

It works. It just was a lot of money for the cleaning - almost half of what I paid for the machine to begin with. However, that may just be the cost of doing business in this area. I don't have this done that often and it may be a fair price.

I was happy to be referred to Crown Machines by my hardware store. Given how I feel about our disposable culture I was grateful not to have to toss it, but instead, have a local repair shop repair the loose socket which was causing it to lose power frequently. The young man who received my radio was kind and professional. On the contrary, the elderly man whom I collected my radio from a week later said I "looked like the kind of woman who would give a bad review" when I remarked about the Angies List sign in their window. I found it bizarre and offensive. That remark moved me from giving Crown an overall outstanding 5 score to a 4 (self fulfilling prophecy...). The turnaround was quick and my radio is working great. I highly recommend Crown and their fine repair job but hope the old curmudgeon reexamines his social graces.

they had to obtain a part from another part of the city and still finished it on time. Staff are extremely courteous and call you when work is done. Trustworthy and would definitely use them again.

We brought the vacuum (a Dyson upright) to the shop, along with a table lamp that wasn't working. We paid a small deposit and were phoned within 2 days with a full description of the work needed and the cost, which was very reasonable. We collected the items within 3 days. They did everything that they said they would do, carefully and competently and we would certainly use them again, and recommend them to others. Great, honest service.

I truly love dealing with honest people, especially when there are repairs or services needed for my apartment. The gentlemen from Crown responded to my calls professionally and in good time. I see why they have the and quot;Aand quot; rating and I will use their services in the future and recommend them to my friends.

They picked up my vacuum, and then brought me a new vacuum even that I preferred and just exchanged them for me. And then offered you the second vacuum at a discount. I would recommend them, they did great work.

Repaired the machine's problem (stalled/locked) going and quot;above and beyondand quot; to find the necessary gears. The installed a replacement part I had bought, but couldn't fit in, and fully serviced and cleaned the machine. Picked up and delivered the machine quickly - 3 days in the shop! Recommend Highly! So glad that I found them on Angie's list!

Great. I have 2 10-year-old Kenmore vacuums. One had a problem (it wasn't turning off). They quickly diagnosed it and fixed it. I brought the other one in for a cleanup: they said the first one burnt out a circuit-board component because it hadn't been cleaned in a long time and overheated. Sounded plausible. I brought both units into the store and picked them up. They were really good about telling me when the work was complete on each one.

They were very prompt and courteous. They did what they said they would do when they said they would do it.

I am very pleased. They were friendly and I plan on using them again.

Since we live up at 190th St. and Crown is at 108th St., we opted to pay for their delivery service ($35.50 covers pick up and return) rather than schlep the vacuum on the subway. Crown was flexible with scheduling and picked the vacuum up in the evening, after I got off of work. The man who picked it up was also the person who serviced it and returned it to us just 24 hours later. He was polite and explained what the problem had been and also gave us pointers on how to keep it in good condion going forward. The first thing I noticed when he brought the vacuum back was that it had been cleaned very thoroughly -- it looked like new (quite a feat for a vacuum in an apartment with 2 cats!). The cost for parts and labor was $96.90, which seemed a bit high to me, but is still much less than the cost of a new vacuum cleaner, so well worth it. We would use Crown again in a heartbeat based on our experience with them. The service was excellent and speedy.

excellant honest, fast thorough repair and review

They were good and they did the job. Their price was a little higher but not unexpected.

I brought my parents' old Miele vacuum cleaner in for repair and cleaning. This is a real old fashioned fix-it shop, from the days before rampant planned obsolescence. They did a fine job and called promptly w/estimate and when repair was (quickly) completed. They also talked to me knowledgeably about vacuum cleaner bags. I will definitely come back w/lamps, sewing machines, etc.

Called to find a place that would repair a combo DVD/Video player. Crown offered lowest price for estimate, which would then be applied to repair ($25). Repair cost a total of $70 and it worked for about a month, but stopped again. They offered a 90 day warranty for their work, so I took it in again and they repaired it again at no charge. I appreciate this.
