I believe Compass Real Estate NYC is a scam. I was communicating with a "real estate agent" by the name of Brandon via WhatApp regarding a rent stabilized apartment in Manhattan and first he wanted a $180 application fee, then $1,000 security deposit and then a $500 key hold. He kept giving me different Zelle accounts to send the funds to. My bank put holds on each of them which as it turns out were accounts listed as probable fraud accounts. I was assured that each of these deposits was fully refundable. When I pulled out of the deal I was told to contact Compass Real Estate which now wants me send $350 before they will send my money back. These are bad people.

Excellently. Erich was unfailing responsive and immensely knowledgeable about the Washington DC real estate market. He showed us numerous properties in different areas of the city and pointed out their advantages and disadvantages from the perspective of our goals. He helped us clarify our goals and come to agreement on a property that is not only a beautiful home but also a good value.
