Ceramic Tile Service
I went to Cancos Tiles twice in the weeks before my bathroom renovation started. Both times I spoke to sales people about a particular tile that I really liked. Both times they assured me that they were always in stock and both times I asked them to write down what the tile was called so I could order it later.
On March 20, 2013 I ordered the tiles over the phone. Ten days later my contractor picked the tiles up. Luckily we noticed that they were the wrong tiles before he installed them. On April 1st my husband went to Cancos to straighten things out. We were then informed that the tiles I originally ordered were not in stock and would not be available for weeks. My contractor can't wait weeks, so we had to settle for some other tiles that I hate. They said they would refund the difference in the price of the tiles and give my husband a "deal" on the new, ugly tiles. They offered to deliver them to my apartment. Of course, they couldn't even do that part right and the tiles were delivered a day later than they promised.
So now, after waiting years and saving thousands of dollars to renovate our apartment I got bait and switched, or suckered, or lied to, whatever you want to call it, out of my money and now I'm stuck with tiles I hate. Oh, and the "deal" they gave my husband? The original tiles I bought were $92.70 more expensive than the hideous replacement tiles. They refunded me a whopping $99.34 for a grand total "deal" of $6.64. Which, by the way, hasn't been credited to my card as of today, April 9th.
I regret ever entering this store. There are a million tile stores in the Flatiron district. I suggest you visit someone other than Cancos if you want to leave satisfied.

Hildee Segal was extremely helpful and knowledgeable about her products and color. She advised me on my selections and was right-on about how they would look; she has a great eye!
