I received a Bodum Coffee Press about two months ago as a gift. The handle was loose at the time, and eventually separated from the carafe on one side This is a significant safety issue, given that a quart of boiling-hot water is involved. I contaced the "Contact Us" email address twice, finally receiving a response the second time and after several days' delay. Their web site states "All BODUM products carry a limited one year warranty on manufacturer defects. Glass is not covered by warranty. Proof of purchase must be provided documenting purchase is within timeframe to receive replacement or refund. Please retain purchase receipts for your records. " Their response is below: "Thank you for contacting Bodum. We are sorry to hear about your Shin bistro. Unfortunately, this item does not fall under Bodum?s warranty program. We can suggest taking it to your local hardware store where they can better assist you with a permanent solution to the broken handle. We apologize for the inconvenience! If you have any further questions or concerns, please feel free to contact as. Thank you, have a wonderful day!
