They are intelligent users of integrated pest management approaches, and they listened to us. They referred us to a really excellent prep service (separate, expensive but not for what they did) because treatment is only as good as your preparation (actually, the preparation is part of the treatment, as you have to bag for a year and/or heat treat everything in your possession). As a result, we seem to be clear of the nasty critters. BHB came twice to look at the situation before the first treatment day, they came when they said they would, and they were really meticulous--treated not only inside dresser drawers, but took the drawers out, and turned the frames upside down, and treated those. Very thorough. They finished on time, and we only had to be out of the house for about six hours each time. When I did some research and found out about a possible less-toxic insect growth regulator, Nick was extremely interested in learning more about it. His desire to use least-toxic treatment methods is sincere, and I think it is BHB's care and thoroughness that makes it work, as I've seen complaints from others that these methods don't work. While I gave them a B on price because it cost a lot, it is not so much in terms of the amount of work they did, the guarantee, and what we got from it.
Description of Work: Used steam, cryolite, and in some mutually agreed upon areas, pesticides, to deal with bed bugs (this was not a major infestation, thank goodness, but it was confirmed by an entomologist). BHB provided two full-house treatments, two weeks apart, and came back two weeks later to check the sticky trap monitors (completely clear!). They offered a guarantee and quarterly inspections, which no one else who did not use pesticides everywhere was willing to do. They put diatomaceous earth into wall cavities before they started treatment, to prevent the bugs from spreading to other apartments during the treatment process.
