I took him once I realize that he had to have his peenie off. That was the most fabulous experience. I even called the woman their after he came home and said my name and my cat blah, blah, blah and I want to let you know that my experience with the people there and the fact that he came home healthy and happy, you should know. Because you don't know what the health issue was from. I think her name was Elizabeth. When I called her, I just wanted to let her know how pleased I was with the experience, and she was shocked. I loved it. They were very well rounded. They had a nurse that came down the elevator and everybody's sitting around with their animals waiting for their turn. The nurse said in a very loud voice through the entire room, Next is, and she yells it "WINSTON CHURCHILL"! It was very reasonable, I paid $75 and I paid a little bit extra to get him a little tag saying if he ever got lost. I was delighted that it was so reasonable. They said bring him at 8:30 and we would do it about 9 or 10 and then he'll be back home. He was happy and when he got back he was a pure ball. Not only would you pleased, but they would be pleased that they would be part of your roster, but I think that their charges and their care that they've given out is extraordinary. If you're new in town and you can't find a dentist or vet or something, it's nice to know there's somebody dependable there.

I have had experience with ASPCA where I adopted the pets. I had a good experience with them. As a matter of fact I support them and I am a member and I contribute to them on a monthly basis. I think they do a good job or at least they try to. When I went there to adopt these 2 cats and I adopted another pet from them. We always go to the shelter. It is a clean environment. They try to make sure that the animals are up to date on the shots. They give you time to have your own veterinarian look at them. If there is any problem they try to follow up with you. They show real interest in not only the animal but in who is taking them home. It is the ASPCA bird hospital. They have the shelter and they also have the bird institute hospital there. That's part of the building. They have veterinarians. They will screen the animals and check their health. They give them any shots that they need. I am assuming that's how they do it. The cost was in the range of what the other veterinarians are charging. They are competitive with everybody else in comparison. The quality was very good. They took very good care of my animal and it was very clean. They are very responsive to you when you come in and responsive to your pet. They were pretty much on time. They are very professional. I live near the Bronx, we are New Yonkers, it is a bit of difficult to get to them. When my brother is available he will drive me down. It is hard to park in Manhattan. That's the only thing that's difficult about it. As far as the care goes it is very good.

If you don't make an appointment and when you get there, they will not look at your animal. I would never even think about going to them. They don't want to speak to you. We stayed there for hours and no one told us that we shouldn't wait there if don't have an appointment. The staff was not rude but they were just not willing to help. Their price is cheaper.

I haven't made a claim yet but I've been paying the premium. I was referred to them by my veterinarian. I haven't made a claim, but they have been very professional. I also feel that the price is fair.

My dog had to have 2 major surgeries and they were very expensive. She snapped a tendon in her back leg and had to have surgery. They were very easy to work with, I sent the bills in to them and they got my money back to me right away.

They cared for the cats and dogs when they were turned in (many turned in their animals that day). KEY ISSUE : If you are going to adopt an animal from this place, bring your own hand cleanser, you might want that. They do have some hand cleansers on the wall. But you might be there for a long time waiting and choosing, so it's nice to bring your own. BE Sure of what you are going in there for BEFORE you go. There are so many nice animals in there, you don't want to go in for a dog and come out with a cat that tugs on your heart strings. Stick to what you decide BEFORE you go there. If you go there with your child, tell your child that you are going to just LOOK the first time, this gives you a better advantage to be able to come back if the animal that you want is not there that day. Go on a Monday to adopt and go on a Monday to give an animal in. This is the best day to do those things. After the weekend they have lots of donations and lots of animals turned in. Lots of people go there on a Monday . If you are putting your animal in there for adoption, know this, once an OWNER turns an animal they can and they are able to kill the animal right away, they do not have to have a waiting period at all --if it is the OWNER turning that animal in. When they find animals or rescue animals --they have a waiting period, the animals have more time, better chance to be adopted. OVERALL, this was not a pleasant experience due to the odors and the concrete wet floors. The workers were nice, good and professional. It just was not "pleasant". And YES an animal kennel can be odorless and pleasant because I have been to one that was -- the North Shore Animal League in Long Island --and seriously, there was no odor. And there were no wet floors. And they had special 'wet" disinfectant door mats at all the outside doors that were to prevent any animals from transferring diseases inside and outside . (The NYCACC did not have these door mats). Interesing experience, and I did come away with one beautiful kitten (who was under 2 pounds) and that kitten grew to be over 12 pounds, a beautiful large black cat. --healthy, curious and quite active. Oh, if you are bringing large cats in there to be adopted (because you can't keep them), don't worry. That Monday that I went there , there were FOUR separate persons who came into the place in those two hours and every one of them adopted large --older cats. They were looking for pets and mousers -that they did not have to train. So, large and older cats DO get adopted at the NYCACC.

The ASPCA does a great service by offering inexpensive veterinary care. The prices are unbelievably low and the people who work here are all nice and knowledgeable. Sometimes you have to wait because so many people like to take advantage of the low prices.

I respect this place because they do such a good service for animals and pet owners. You get quality care for a little less money. The only drawback is that it is very, very busy and you do have to wait awhile to get in. The staff is all friendly, caring, and professional.

THEY ARE GOOD AT THEIR WORK. MY PET WAS WELL KEPT AND GLAD TO BE HOME. THE ONLY THING THAT I DIDN'T LIKE ABOUT THEM, WAS THEIR PRICE. I WOULD RECOMMEND THEM, BUT IF I FIND A CHEAPER PLACE, I WILL PROBABLY GO SOMEWHERE ELSE.
