Overall: Terrible! DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT SHOPPING AT AMSTERDAM HARDWARE!
The clerk in the store handling the return (possibly the owner) - a heavyset man with a strong foreign accent and beard stubble - immediately took all eight supports and put them in a container with other supports. He then refused to refund the .63 and would only refund the amount of the second purchase, $1.89. Since he had already put all eight supports in with his inventory, there was no way of verifying the number of supports I was returning.
While this only involves .63, a tiny amount of money, imagine what the loss to the customer would be on a very large purchase!
There are many excellent hardware stores in this area and I strongly urge anyone needing hardware products not to shop at Amsterdam Hardware, 147 Amsterdam Avenue on the Upper West Side in NYC.
