 + -1 moreOverall: Terrible! DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT SHOPPING AT AMSTERDAM HARDWARE! The clerk in the store handling the return (possibly the owner) - a heavyset man with a strong foreign accent and beard stubble - immediately took all eight supports and put them in a container with other supports. He then refused to refund the .63 and would only refund the amount of the second purchase, $1.89. Since he had already put all eight supports in with his inventory, there was no way of verifying the number of supports I was returning. While this only involves .63, a tiny amount of money, imagine what the loss to the customer would be on a very large purchase! There are many excellent hardware stores in this area and I strongly urge anyone needing hardware products not to shop at Amsterdam Hardware, 147 Amsterdam Avenue on the Upper West Side in NYC.
Description of Work: I purchased a total of eight shelf supports from Amsterdam Hardware, 147 Amsterdam Avenue on the Upper West Side in NYC as follows: Approximately two to three weeks before March 10, 2012, ( the day I came to the store to return my purchase), I made two separate purchases of shelf supports - a total of eight supports. The first purchase was for two supports - a total of .63, including tax. I then realized I might need several more, so I purchased an additional six, for a total of $1.89, including tax. After approximately two weeks, I realized the supports were not correct for the shelves in my bookcase so I took all eight supports, as well as the receipts, to the store for a return.
