ALERT USA

They sent the equipment and contract to my aged mother. She found the contract overwhelming and returned items within the correct time for a refund. I called 4 weeks later to ask why there was no credit showing on the credit card. I was told it took 6-8 weeks to process. (I discovered yesterday that is against the Fair Billing Act.) I waited four more weeks for the refund which never happened. Again I called Alert USA. They told me that they had already credited the account 6 weeks previous. They were saying that they had credited the account two weeks previous to my FIRST call to them about the refund. I called my credit card company. No credit was submitted by Alert USA. I called Alert again. The employee was extremely rude and kept me on hold for 10 minutes. She then told me they had submitted the refund and gave me a trace number. Her demeanor was very insulting. I called my credit card again. They confirmed that no credit was ever submitted and we are now disputing the charge. From start to finish this was a difficult process. I cannot imagine how elderly people (for whom this equipment is designed) cope with this company.
