We lost power for 13 hours after our generator wouldn’t start. Our old generator service called them old because we’ve since hired Gentech wouldn’t come out till the next day then told us they didn’t know what was wrong and would have to order parts we called Gentech who came out when promised had the part fixed it and didn’t try to get us to upgrade our generator.

Had an excellent experience working with Gentech. From start to finish everyone who we dealt with was friendly, helpful, and cheerful. It was great to work with contractors and sales reps who appreciate your business and are there to provide you with a great product. There was no pressure to up-sell us on any additional items we did not want and were very patient and thorough about questions we had. Our install was very simple (short run, all lines are exposed in unfinished basement) and they took this into consideration in our estimate and did not try to overcharge us like several estimates we received from competitors. When the generator was first dropped off I wasn't very happy with the specific placement, all it took was one phone call and they came back and adjusted it without any hassle. All the contractors did nice clean work, and were on time as needed. It's a very expensive investment, but we certainly look forward to the piece of mind it will bring us and I am confident that if we ever have any problems I can reach out to Gentech for help.

They come and fix it right away whenever it breaks down, even if it's during a snow storm or in the middle of the night. They replaced the motor, then extended my warranty from 3 years to 5. They really stand behind their product, and service it (change the oil and check and make sure it runs well) 2x a year. Very good and professional.

They are really good.  They were good price and knowledgeable.  They render good service.  If you sign up for service agreement you'll be the first if there be any issues or problems.  The equipment runs flawlessly in many multiple days.  We had hurricane and blizzards that we had like for five years and it still runs beautifully.  It worked exactly as advertised.  I really like them.

After Gentech did the "start-up" of the new generator, they left it in the "off" position.  When we had our first power outage, I ended up outside in a thunderstorm trying to figure out why it did not automatically start, only to find their mistake.  When the generator needed repair in March, their poor response required a call to Kohler.  When they finished with the repair, the muffler was left disconnected.  No mechanic could have tested the unit without noticing that the sound was deafening.  They do not return phone calls, and more importantly, the owner does not return calls either.  I paid $18,000 to have this generator installed and both Gentech and Kohler have been nothing but trouble.

Too bad you can't do minus five stars since that is what they deserve. Missed first two appointments, did not return my phone calls and then when finally showed up could not resolve problem but got their $295 anyway. Promised they would get back to me but never did. what a great deal for them? The guy who supposedly 'worked' on the unit was afraid to try to start it, so I did it. Should I get the $295 then?
