I called Cherry on referral from Angie's list. Mr Cherry came to our home, measured and handed me a hand written estimate detailing what he intended to do and for how much. We parted company. Some time later (can't recall) I called him back and told him we were ready to do the job. He replied that he could start the next day, I thought this most advantageous. I was unable to be at home when they arrived the next day as I had to go to work. Mr. Cherry called me numerous times during the job with questions and suggestions to due extra work for which I was appreciative and agreed to . At the end of the day Mr. Cherry called me and pressed me for payment. I had not even seen the job yet. I trusted he did a professional job and directed my wife to pay him. Yes, it was my decision to pay before inspecting his work, but his demeanor on the phone made me very un-easy. Upon arriving home, my inspection of his work told me that he did not deliver as promised. His estimate quoted a job of three (3) inch thickness. There were areas where it was evident that much less than 3and quot; of blacktop was applied. Months after the completion, the driveway is bumpy.
I am in the construction business and know better than to enter into an agreement without a contract. But, as I said earlier, I trusted him. 20-20 hindsight, get a contract, watch the installation, and only pay in full when you are completely satisfied with the job.
Mr. Cherry did no follow up and did not even thank me for the job. He took the money and ran. But, yes I allowed it ; let the buyer beware. If anyone wants to see an example of his work, contact me through Angie's List.

stalled asphault driveway horse shoe shaped at our home, approx. 1800 sq ft.. During istalation electrical conduit was broken feeding primary power to the house from underground. Mr. Cherry came out to look at the damage, said he would repair it and never returned to do the repair work. I did call him several times about the repair, but he never returned.

Excellent, on time, trimmed edges, cloud driveway of all debris, hand coated with sealant being very careful to fill indentations and eliminate pebbles, completely covered to edge, put up caution tape.

Made call, given estimate, accepted and then date of work to be done...easy
Reasonable price compared to other local companies...and did a great job

We bought our home in 2006. It was built in 2001, but nothing had ever been done to the driveway. Our driveway is approximately 2000 sq ft. When Cherry Asphalt came to give us an estimate, the owner was very polite and friendly. He determined that our driveway was in fairly good shape, but would need asphalt resurfacing. His price was reasonable compared to another company's estimate. We agreed for him to do the job. He came the following Wednesday with about 5 other workers, a steamroller, and dump truck containing hot asphalt. They finished the job in an hour and a half. It was amazing how quickly and efficiently they worked. The owner not only supervised the operation, but even got personally involved in the resurfacing. He told us how long to keep off the driveway so that it would be given time to cure. He also recommended that seal coating not be done until next year. We will definitely have him back to do the seal coating. He gave us a 7 year warranty which we feel is more than fair.

Outstanding job. Bid was 50% lower than two other contractors. Quality of work was excellent. Came one day after winning bid and finished all work in one day.
