Schmukler's, Westchester counties most trusted name in the field of carpet and upholstery cleaning, is highly regarded 3rd generation company, locally owned and operated by Barry Golomb. Barry owes much of his expetise and attitude towards first rate service to the succes of his father, who opened the carpet and upholstery cleaning division in 1969, and to his grandfather, who purchased the original Schmukler's dry cleaning business in 1947. They are Oriental rug cleaning specialists, and can clean your Oriental's and fine rug's in their state of the art rug cleaning plant. Barry personally does all the in home cleaning services himself. His 25 years in the field, as well as his many certifications and awards, helps develop long term relationships of trust and satisfaction. Barry is a member of the New Rochelle Chamber of Commerce, and the BBB of westchester. His firm is a member of New York Rug Cleaners Institute, he is also President of (NYRCI). And has just been awarded the title of Master Textile Cleaner from the Institute of Inspection Cleaning and Restoration Certification, which is the highest level of education that can be achieved.

We have now worked with Schmuklers carpets for a few years and are very satisfied with the company's quality of service. They come to clean our carpets while we are away on vacation every day. They are reliable, trustworthy and perform an excellent job.

Barry (and his partner) were excellent. The white carpet had tons of mud and dirt from the dog, and had seen better days. Barry got it back to it's white splendor. We've used him for years, and he's the best. Would recommend without hesitation.

Schmuklers was highly recommended by a number of neighbors. Barry was very responsive from the start.
We arranged for his team to clean all the carpets and rugs while we were away during Thanksgiving week. On the day of the cleaning, he attempted to reach me by phone for the credit card authorization but I did not hear the calls. His team went ahead with the cleaning anyhow which I very much appreciated. We took care of the payment after we got back and it was not a big issue. The cleaning was thorough and the team took care to protect the furniture. I was very satisfied with the whole experience and would not hesitate to recommend Schmuklers.

Schmukler's was exceptional. They were great in setting up the appointment; to include me changing the date of the cleaning with ease. I spoke to Barry when I set up the appointment; when I changed the date; and he handled the entire day. They were prompt -- arriving a bit early which I appreciated. They got to work right away and handled a difficult job with ease. The house is very old with old carpeting on the stairwells that hasn't been cleaned in years (at LEAST 8-9 years) and has had 2-3 dogs romping about -- it was exceptionally dirty. The stairwell to the basement is curvy and dirty, but did not provide a problem for the Schmukler team. Lastly, the basement had newer carpet--a white berber -- but it too had been well-used by a family with 2-3 dogs at all times for about 7-8 years and never professionally cleaned. Needless to say--ALL of the carpet was brought back to life. The basement seemed brighter and new again. The carpeting on the stairwells looked spotless--I was shocked at how great it all looked. Thanks Barry--you made my day and my life much brighter and easier. I will definitely use them again and much sooner than another 8 years. Well worth it. Great customer service. (they also honored my Angie's list 10% discount!)

They were very good. Took an area rug with them to remove stains. It worked. It was very expensive! I could almost have bought a new one.

After having consulted Schmukler's I decided to purchase covers for my current upholstery and that turned out to be the best, most cost effective solution. When I do purchase new furniture I will follow Barry Schmukler's advice.

From the initial phone call and cost estimates, through the carpet cleaning process (pick up and delivery 10 days later) and the steam cleaning of my two sofas this was a great experience. Mr. Golub was on time and courteous. I wasn't going to have both my sofas cleaned but when I saw how professionally he tested the fabric of one sofa to make sure it was and quot;steamableand quot; I decided to have the other cleaned as well. And, the price was right! I agreed to the work and when he delivered my cleaned carpet he and his assistant got to work on the sofas. An hour and one-half later they were gone and the sofas looked like new! I would and will recommend him to all my friends.

They did a good job cleaning an older woolen carpet that hadn't been cleaned in some time. The carpet didn't come out quite as clean as I would have liked, but I think that may have been due to its age and the passage of time since it's last cleaning. The carpeting also remained a bit damp longer than they said it would be. But overall they were professional, didn't make a mess or cause any damage, and achieved a pretty good result at a fair price.

A great experience. Barry Golomb was away on vacation when I left a message and we made contact immediately within a few hours of his return. An appointment was set up and Barry arrived 30 minutes early!!! He was very well informed and gave me information I could have done with previously and not had my two sofas ruined by another company using the incorrect method of cleaning. He proceeded to do an excellent job, timeously, nol mess etc. and took care of my home. Highly recommended and I will be using his services again shortly - thank you

They are terrific. One of the reasons I like them so much is that, I didn't know whether the upholstery needed cleaning, and the head of the company came in and said that it didn't need cleaning at that stage. They are completely trustworthy. The workmanship is great and the carpets are now completely spotless. It takes two days for the carpets to completely dry but that is no problem since they give you those little plastic things to walk around in. I called them and they were due to arrive at 1.30, and I called them at 1.31 just to make sure that we had the right time and they were outside my door. They were punctual and were able to accommodate my schedule. I think that they do a terrific job. I haven't done any comparison analysis but I think that their pricing is very reasonable. They are really superb in the cleaning that we get done once or twice a year.

Barry (the owner, and 3rd generation carpet cleaner) took my initial call about a week ago, quoted me a price, came in below that price, was punctual, friendly, professional and quick. He came at 9am, as promised, and was out by 10:30. He gave me little plastic booties to wear if I HAVE to walk on the wet carpet, but he prefers I let it dry first. The white berber carpet waspretty dirty, but it's sooo clean now! Just like new!. Thank you Barry!!!! I love good service! There is not enough of it these days, and I highly recommend this company.

Very very good experience. Arrived on time, conveniently scheduled. Professional attention. Re-measured area (versus my estimate to him on phone) and found I had overstated area. Barry recalculated rate and reduced price appropriately. Refreshing honesty and service. (also received coupon reduction in price for being an Angie's List member.)

Barry was awesome. Getting estimates over the phone was easy. He showed up on time, did a great job, completed the job during the time frame he gave me and even cleaned an area rug that wasn't part of the estimate for no additional cost. Also, I felt like they treated my furnishings with care.

Barry was excellent. He always answers his own phone, so no mssg gets lost in translation. He showed up early and thoroughly explained things, addressing my questions with good, solid answers. He suggested he take our area rug and bring it back later for a more thorough cleaning because of the material used. He called to notify as soon as the rug was ready and brought it back on time (actually, he was 2-minutes early). The furniture looks beautiful! Barry was easy to speak with, fast, and very professional. He was a bit more in cost than some of the others we considered but we feel he was definitely worth it. His client service and first-hand knowledge is unmatched.

Barry was terrific. Very professional. Advised me not to clean certain upholstered furniture, because it would require dry cleaning and wouldn't do much for some stains. Very accommodating in terms of time of appointment, calling me on my cell phone, etc.

They gave me an appointment on the first possible day I was available, even though I called shortly before the Holidays. On the phone I had asked to have a sectional cleaned in addition to the carpets and furniture mentioned above, but upon inspecting my sectional he told me it didn't really need a thorough cleaning (much newer vs. the other pieces and in a low traffic room) and that because it would require chemical cleaning instead of steam cleaning it would be more expensive and he felt it wouldn't be a good value for me. Once his evaluation was done he provided a quote, I went back into my office to work and within several hours they were all done, cleaned up and ready to go! Carpets and upholstered items beautiful and clean!
