We have been using doctor Perler for twenty-five years. I think he does really good work, and we have been very pleased for making appointments. Overall experience, I will give him an A.
he is wonderful -- although very expensive. (Gotta keep that plane in
the air, LOL.....) HOWEVER....when it comes time to do cosmetic work --
Cerec crowns, or a bridge, etc. -- either stand your ground with him or
go to another dentist. I paid over $10,000 for Cerecs on almost all of
my visible teeth, upper and lower. (Only three lowers are actually
mine that show.) When Dr Perler pulled out the color chart, I said
"Please give me a nice white smile!" I mean, everyone now has these gorgeous white teeth, everywhere you look.
To my dismay he said, "No...I'm
matching them to your natural teeth...." Well, he did, and now I have a
VERY expensive YELLOW SMILE, thank you Dr Perler. It has done such a
number on my self-esteem I can't even describe it accurately. I HATE
smiling. And Cerecs cannot be whitened or veneer'ed so there is no hope
for me, EVER, unless I drop another $10-15K on having them re-done. I
have since spoken to cosmetic dentists who said "What they should have
done is whiten up your remaining natural teeth, then MATCH THE CROWNS TO
THE WHITENED TEETH. Duhhh, YEAH!!! You know when you are in your late
fifties and sallow-complexioned, the last thing you need is
YELLOW TEETH!!
So....is Dr Perler expert at what he does? Absolutely.
Is he painless and pleasant to go to? Absolutely.
Are his office admins wonderful? Absolutely.
BUT
-- I should have been more assertive, and insisted. I let myself be
intimidated by him because it made me feel like a bimbo, wanting whiter
teeth. That was WRONG, and I do blame myself....but why did he have to
be so adamant about matching to my three natural teeth when it's so easy
now to simply whiten them??? Don't let him force you into being "natural" when what you
really want, for all that money you're spending, is "beautiful" !!!
No, sorry but I won't be going back. Can't afford it anymore, anyway....lost my business in Hurricane Sandy.
