I wish that an A+ was a possible grade as Santiago Martos certainly earned it. He and his crew were excellent. A close friend recently renovated his apartment and I helped him oversee the work. His contractor was good (I considered using him for my renovation), so I had recent experience with a successful renovation. Santiago far exceeded my expectations. He is very easy to get along with. He is responsive to questions and concerns. His priority is clearly to make his client happy. He set an aggressive timeline and met it. I am very happy with the overall workmanship of his crew. I also found him to be honest. My biggest complaint about my friend's contractor was the number (and dollar value) of upcharges to rectify unexpected problems (which happen in every renovation). I had a number of such unexpected issues and was often not charged to rectify the problem. In the couple of cases where I was charged, the fees were quite modest. I will absolutely hire him again. You should not hesitate to have him come in for an estimate. His price will be competitive and he is a good guy to work with.

Santiago and his crew were professional and helpful every step of the way. They took great care in sealing off the work space to limit the dust intrusion on surrounding areas. They started the project off with a bang and got nearly 80% of the work completed within the first week. There were at least 3 guys there everyday. They were very helpful in receiving the appliance deliveries at the work site while I was at work (a great convenience). Santiago coordinated the entire countertop fabrication, making sure all measurements were correct, ensuring timely delivery, and proper installation. The crew cleaned up (as best as to be expected) daily. They even made friends with my 2 yappy dogs (a hard thing to do!)

There were a few and quot;missed spotsand quot; during the finishing stages of the project (painting, staining, etc), but the crew were speedy to make the corrections. I believe the unofficial company motto is and quot;we're happy, when you're happy.and quot;

Overall, I LOVE my new kitchen (and so do all my dinner guests!). I will definitely be using this company again on my next project!

This was a very good experience, and as my first major renovation, that was extremely welcome.
Personal examples of contractor's professionalism and integrity included that he and his crew showed respect for the customers, were courteous, responsive, and completely trustworthy--I could trust them to work on the house while I was on the other side of the country and unable to directly inspect the on-going work, and was never surprised or disheartened at finding anything amiss when I would return from out of town three weeks later.
Anything that required post-construction tweaking was handled quickly and cheerfully (including humidity-and-temperature-related wood swelling that's not anyone's fault), and he responded unusually well to smaller and quot;while you're here could you look at this too?and quot; requests--e.g., installing curtain rods and curtains for the woman of the house, and taking in UPS packages that arrived during inclement weather.
Overall, I would recommend him to anyone in the NY Tri-State area, for remodeling and renovation on jobs ranging from small to large.

Santiago was an absolute delight to deal with from day 1. I interviewed 10 potential contractors for what one could consider a daunting job. Santiago arrived on time, complete with a portfolio of his work, references, and copies of his license and insurance coverage. He submitted a DETAILED written proposal within 4 days of meeting with me, a truly professional document. His quoted price was the lowest of the 5 bids I received (5 contractors did not even bother submitting a quote). This made me very nervous as all the professional magazines say to NEVER go with the lowest bid. But, after checking his references, they all said, EXCELLENT work for an EXCELLENT price! The entire job took 8 weeks with Santiago's team working every day (it was a complicated project).And the end result was absolutely gorgeous! I am the worst control freak in the world and would come home every night and inspect every inch of what had been completed that day and 98% of the time I was pleased. If I was not pleased with an item, all I would have to do is tell Santiago and he would reply "no problem, I'll fix it" and it would be done the next day. He had the most delightful "can do" attitude, never argued, and ALWAYS returned my calls. He was honest and fair in pricing. Cleaned up the work area every day. Respected and took care as to not damage the rest of my home. And he LISTENS to the client and works with you, not one of those "let me tell you how it should be done" kind of contractors. I cannot say enough good things about my experience with Santiago. Would really classify him as a "dream contractor" to work with. So, putting my money where my mouth is, I have already put a deposit down with him to return and redo my Kitchen next year!!
