I thought he was very professional. He did what he had to do. He did it efficiently and quickly. He didn't overcharge. He had to go to the store to pick up the new faucet then come back but he only charged me for the one visit.

Chris eventually calls back and doesn't always come on time. But his work is good and has fair prices. When he is late it is often me who has to call him to find out what is going on. But because I know him for years I have let is slide.
My big problem with him has always been messiness. For example, when he leaves the job, he will always leave the floor a mess--and any extra materials he no longer needs are left on the floor-or sometimes on furniture. He never wears booties.
I have used his services for many years because I was recommended to him from a friend who likes him but also mentioned
he was messy. I tired to ignore this for many years because I think he is a nice person and does a good job at a fair price.
Recently I got a new carpet and asked him to please take off his shoes since the master bath was off the bedroom and hall where new carpet is two days old. He did, but I could tell he wasnt happy about it. I even put sheets down on the top of the stairs and in front of the bath. He asked me to get a certain type of fixture for the bath and I needed him to look at it to make sure it was right.
He did and we figured out what was needed to complete the job. The price was a bit high so I asked him if he could come down a
bit, but he said "Maybe it was time I got a new plumber" and left. After he left I noticed he put the remains of the valve parts of the shower on my shiny (scratchable) bathroom vanity top. I cleaned them off the top and put them aside on a towel. I also noticed black grease hand prints on the new shiny chrome fixture which I cleaned off. These things are not major, just irritating and really unnecessary if you are a professional. I think when workman come to the house they should be as neat as possible and leave with everything as it was when they came. But he was insulted with my request.
I tried calling him and then text him. I apologize if I insulted him but felt it was important for me to let him know I needed him to be neat for this job since I just got a new carpet a few days earlier and I was willing to get a plastic tarp to surround the shower since he needed to cut a few tiles to get into the wall. I lost a contact down the drain and asked him to stop by to take out the trap. He said he would and told me the price of the house call which was fine and asked that I have a check ready for him. After ten years, I was a bit surprised, but fine. But Chris decided he didn't want to do the job and just didn't show up. This pipe problem happened in January and I finally was able to order the fixture based on his requirements. Now I have to go out and find a new plumber. I feel this was very unprofessional.

This was not an emergency replacement. Chris came by several days earlier to give an estimate. He returned on the day scheduled and completed the job as he promised. Clean and neat.
