John Robbins Home Improvement Contractor

Description of Work: John Robbins and his team at John Robbins Home Improvement were hired to do a modernization project on my kitchen and powder room in my home. Mr. Robbins had done work for me previously in my Master Bathroom, Den and Family Room. The work required the contractor to Gut the entire kitchen and bathroom down to the Brick walls; install new plumbing in the kitchen area; new window; install Exhaust fan for the Stove; install an outside Gas line from the house for the BBQ on the Deck adjacent to the kitchen; seal up the old exhaust fan space; Sheetrock the walls; install the cabinets; install a Hardwood Floor in the Kitchen; custom made radiator covers; custom made chair railings around the kitchen; crown molding around the entire kitchen to match the cabinets; build a custom cabinet for the wine refrigerator and a cabinet for the Microwave to sit on; book shelves; TV shelf; installed new doors for pantry, and the stairway to the lower level family room and the hall closet; painting of the entire kitchen BATHROOM: Demolish the entire bathroom; install a tile floor; custom sink and cabinet; toilet; crown molding around the entire bathroom; painting of the bathroom; Mr. Robbins also helped me select the cabinets; design the kitchen with the assistance of our vendor, Pelham Bay Home Center, John Scanlon. He also went with me to select the Granite and tile for the floor and assisted me with the selection of the paint for the entire job. As part of the job the Den off the kitchen was painted; the Living Room and Dining Room were also painted, since they were adjacent to the kitchen space, the stairway and the side entrance to the house were also painted; John Robbins also installed the new GE refrigerator, dishwasher, stove and tiled the backsplash above the granite. Prior to the construction, Mr. Robbins put up a sheet of Sheetrock to block the kitchen door and covered it with plastic so no dust would go into the rest of the House, which it did not during the entire time of construction. All work was done on premises and each night the crew would vacuum the floor and clean the area where they were cutting the wood, etc. Mr. Robbins and his team are extremely professional and arrived on time every morning and worked the entire day including Saturday's. He estimated that the job would take approximately 8 weeks and it took exactly that amount of time from beginning to end. He coordinated the work with the suppliers including the tile company for the Granite and Tile; the Pelham Bay Home Center for the cabinets and all the wood used to do the crown moldings and the radiator covers. He picked up materials and delivered them to the job. He worked with the flooring company on the delivery of the wood floor and when all work was completed he finished by covering all the nail marks so that the job is flawless. He also selected the electrician to work on the outlets and install additional outlets where needed. All work was done in a meticulous manner. The job turned out perfect and he created the kitchen of my dreams. I would highly recommend him. I have done several jobs with him before this and would have wrote this review earlier if I knew about Angie's list previously.
