I think there is miscommunication between the owner of the company and the guys who are doing that they are kind of frustrated that they are not paid well so that's why I'm doing this creepy job and they are like angry guys and they are asking for money for the tip like openly even though I paid the whole sum, so that was very frustrating for me. I mean the whole job that we wanted green grass and it was very clear I was very clear I even paid more I just wanted green grass and what they did they put the seeds there and then nothing grew and then they said oh sorry it was the wind and I said oh I'm sorry and then I could do it myself, I wouldn't have hired you guys so basically I think it was very bad.

There were several extra personal touches - for example, the owner Rich Heller sent many examples of kinds of landscaping, until we pinpointed my style and favorite plants and their climate/design suitability for the space. He then sent a computer-generated new design over a photo of my home. All aspects of the job were handled very professionally. The crew was in and out in a day. To my surprise the crew came back recently to check on the plants, weed, trim and fertilize, and then sent me an email with a photo - all at no extra charge. Greener by Design is not my regular gardening service, so I was happily surprised by this extra touch.

Greener by Design was an absolute pleasure to work with. Rich and his team worked with us from start to finish, all the way from initial design to installation to weekly maintenance. The day after GbD completed their work, we received multiple offers for the residence.
Rich was very friendly, always readily available and provided us with great suggestions for our NYC terrace. Rich was also very clear on expectations and kept within budget. Greener by Design took our terrace from a large outdoor space to a spectacular oasis.

At the time, we apologized to you and gave you three alternate companies to hire. We gave you one months notice so that you would have ample time to replace us. This was the MOST professional action we could take at that time, we admitted we were over committed and helped you find another company. This was not personal, we took exactly the same action with several other clients. We kept every commitment to you, addressed every complaint. Today we are very careful and selective about how many clients we take on and that we have qualified staff to meet their needs as we are deeply committed to quality products. . I apologize again that you were inconvenienced at the time and wish you and your family all the best."

The team did a good job but they did not mark my sprinklers and broke 3 of my spribnkler heads

Overall, Rich and his crew did a good job but it took a little work to get there. They installed 3 trees and some flowers, but the birch looked a bit pathetic on planting and didn't perk up after a week of regular watering. Rich offered to replace the tree with a bigger, healthier one and the change was dramatic. The guys were supposed to plant some flowers according to a plan laid out by Rich and my wife, but somehow they ended up planting them in a different plan than what was discussed. Not a big deal. It still looks nice, but not what was discussed. Rich has a great eye and can immediately see how to improve a home's appearance. The downside is that he is busy and it took a while to schedule his visit and then a couple of weeks to get his crew to perform the work. We never really resolved the flower issue, but Rich did offer to come out and move them. Just didn't seem worth the trouble. There were multiple errors on our final invoice, but again, Rich cleared those up once they were pointed out.
Overall, very satisfied with Rich's responsiveness and his desire to make things right. His crew was polite and friendly, but seemed less than the "A-team" Rich deserves for the high-end work he wants to deliver. The only reasons that I might hesitate to use them again would be the cost, the long lead time, and the hassles that came with the work (e.g., not getting the right tree the first time, the flowers, billing, and a few other hiccups). Nonetheless, we are happy with the final product. Our job was probably an exception to what seems like a quality service provider.

It was hard getting them scheduled to come do the service due to rain, etc. Finally they came and I’m glad they did it as it’s helping and the lawn is looking better . As soon as Angie’s List contacted them they contacted me. The receptionist was very nice and the service was a good price. The results were what I wanted. They just could have been more prompt and there was an outside front strip near the sidewalk that I thought was to be treated upon communicating this with them.

Scheduling is easy. They're courteous and I have nothing negative to say about them. I enjoy that they do organic fertilization. Their costs are reasonable.

Overall, it went so-so. They gave me some advice and discussed some possibilities for my landscaping. We discovered that there were a few restrictions with what we were allowed to do on our property. The one individual that came out was helpful in answering my questions and had some good ideas, though.

They had a female pushing the heavy machine and seemed to be struggling. I asked one of the employees if they could fill a small hole and was told that they couldn't do it, however the owner did state that they could. Communication seemed to be a little off and I wasn't overly pleased with the service.

The service went well. They were very responsive and did excellent work. We had them design a plan for the backyard. The designer was knowledgeable, informative and cooperative. We used their design, but ended doing the landscaping ourselves. It was a great deal.
