Esco TV

I presented Esco TV service with a difficult problem. I had an intermittent problem with my LG TV in that the screen would go blank but power and sound would stay on. Once the TV was turned off and then back on the problem would go away for a period of time. The condition kept on getting more and more frequent until it was occurring up to 10 times during a 2 hour period. I called several different repair places but Esco was the only one that answered. The owner, Dave, talked with me briefly and said he wanted to see if there was any reported conditions like mine with LG. Later that afternoon he called and said he couldn't find any reported instances of that condition, but suggested that I bring in the TV and he would look at it. So I did. After 3 days he called back saying that he had gotten the problem to replicate itself, but only once in about 10 hours of working with it and he still couldn't find out what was causing the condition. He suggested I leave it over the weekend and he would continue to try and cause it to fail again. On Tuesday he called to say that he hadn't been able to get the TV to fail again, he had tested several different boards and even heating them with a hair dryer didn't get the condition to repeat. For all his work including the pre-repair research he only charged me $20 but I gave him a hefty tip for all his work and his effort in keeping me appraised of his progress. I've had the TV home for 2 days now and have watched 2 complete baseball games and several other shows for two nights of 3+ hours each of continuous viewing. The set hasn't failed once. Many repair places would have replaced a board or other part and charged me for the experience. Mr. Esco was professional, honest and forthright in his dealings with me. Not only that but his assessment of the time and effort he spent on the problem was very affordable. If I have any TV repair problems in the future, I know who I will go to first.
