It was a horrible experience, really. Faiola came promptly enough to measure and sent us an estimate on Oct. 15, 2007. We signed the estimate on October 17 and returned it to him with a personal check for $740, half the total cost, which was promptly cashed. We then heard nothing from Mr. Fraioli. When we called a month later he said the window maker was in the hospital. When I called a month after that his phone number had been disconnected. When we called the Westchester County Consumer Protection Office they told us that the license number listed on the proposal had expired two years previously and had not been renewed. I visited the 19 Dewey Ave address which turned out to be his residence. He promised to give me his new license number but never produced it. When I stopped by the house a few weeks later his wife said there had been a death in the family. Finally in January I filed a complaint with the Westchester County Department of Consumer Protection. Faiola reported to them for an appearance and agreed to refund the deposit in full. However, nothing happened for another month. The inspector called him in again and finally we received a full refund in the mail. I have no end of praise for the Westchester County Department of Consumer Affairs and the inspector assigned to my case. From now on I will always check the licensing of contractors with them before I accept an estimate. I don't know if Mr. Faiola's problems have resolved themselves, but he should certainly have offered me a full refund the first time I appeared at his door before making me go through this whole process to get the refund.

I am very pleased with the work that All Star Exteriors Incorporated did for me. The windows are of good quality and they fit perfectly. Their prices are good. They are a little hard to get hold of sometimes, but if you leave a message they always get back to you as soon as they can.
