Jimmy and his moving men showed up on time, packed up all my stuff in boxes, and delivered it that afternoon to my storage bin. As it was a holiday weekend all other moving companies declined to help me as they were busy. I really appreciate Jimmy and his workers getting the job done and saying yes. They came in and moved over my entire house in around 2.5hours. They didn't drop anything, were professional and they worked the entire time. Impressive workers and I'd hire them again

This was the most entertaining move I've ever been involved in. The gentlemen from Man With a Van were unbelievable. They arrived right on time and went immediately to work. 3 guys moved everything out of my apartment (this included numerous large pieces of furniture and about 50 boxes) to my new home in exactly 4 hours. They were mindful of my belongings and everything arrived at my home intact. They even pointed out pieces of furniture that were scratched or damaged from previous moves, just as a precaution. My final price was exactly what I was quoted 4 weeks prior to my move and I appreciated there were no surprises. The 3 gentlemen who moved me were personable, had a sense of humor and ultimately, were a pleasure to work with. I recently purchased my forever home and do not anticipate needing these services in the future. However, I would highly recommend this company to any of my family or friends to assist with their moving needs!

They showed up on time, moved the equipment and were quickly done. The employees were polite and professional. My only complaint is that there are two gouge marks where they set the equipment down to get a better grip during the move. One is on the porch step outside and the other is in the hardwood floor inside the home. I would have expected some sort of drop cloth or other floor protectant to be utilized to ensure a damage free experience.

TERRIFIC SERVICE.  THEY WERE ON TIME, CAREFUL, AND PROFESSIONAL.

I bought a new water heater and needed to get it from my garage into the basement. The water heater is large and very heavy, and the stairs to the basement are narrow and make a 90 degree turn halfway down. I didn't want to try and tackle this myself, even with the help of a friend.
Since moving a water heater isn't your typical moving job, I first sent an e-mail describing what I needed done and asked if they would be willing to do the job, and if so, what it would cost. Within a couple of hours, I received a response from Dave with a price. He said they could do the job in the next couple of days, and we scheduled a time.
The movers arrived exactly on time. They carefully wrapped the water heater in cardboard and mover's blankets, so it would not be damaged when they strapped it to their appliance dolly.
It wasn't easy getting the water heater down the stairs. But they knew what they were doing and made it look a lot easier than it really was. I was very glad I didn't try and do this on my own.
They placed the water heater exactly where I need it to be, so it can be easily installed.
The job was done quickly and professionally, and I'm very happy I hired Man With a Van.

The moving crew arrived promptly at the pick up location. In fact, they were so prompt that they called me ahead of time to see if we could move the pick up time ahead by over an hour. While that didn't work with my schedule, they were right on time and extremely efficient. I still had a few things to pack and that's the only thing that slowed them down. I recommend having everything ready to go when Man with a Van arrives. They loaded and unloaded the truck quickly and professionally. Nothing was damaged. I am very pleased with their work.

I can't say enough about what great service we got from Dave Miller. (Man with a Van) To begin with they arrived early and stepped right into action. Dave and his excellent partner were both very professional with their work and they were always accommodating and friendly. The move went very smoothly and nothing was harmed or broken. The cost came in under estimate and was very reasonable. Moving is such a stressful day and not having to deal with added stress from the moving company creates a much better atmosphere. I have already recommended them to a family member who will need a moving company soon.

The experience was excellent, and for the following reasons:
1. Dave and his team were excellent communicators: they were in constant contact via email or telephone - I didn't have to track them down, they were reaching out to me first to make sure I knew where they were or what the schedule was.
2. They came in $100 under budget
3. They packed and cared for my things beyond expectation (meaning they were more careful with my stuff than *I* would have been)
4. Everyone was friendly, professional, courteous... asking where I wanted things, if they could do anything else to help me set up or re-organize boxes, if I needed anything else, etc. I also appreciated the respectful dynamic between the movers themselves - they were genuinely nice to one another and me!
5. Dave went out of his way to accomodate my job after I was stiffed by another moving company.
I would recommend Dave and his crew without reservation to anyone - def the most professional and best moving experience I've had!

All communication with Dave before the move was great. He responded to messages in a timely manner. He was able to acommodate me when I needed to change the date of the move.
The crew of 3 arrived on time, and loaded up the truck very quickly.
Two of then were very professional, but the third one, although he was a good mover, had a sense of humor I didn't appreciate. For example, when I introduced myself, he pretended he didn't speak. Then he did, and it was a big joke. For me, moving is a very stressful time, and his smart alecky behavior, which continued, did not help matters.
When they were unloading the boxes at the house, it became apparent that there would not be enough room in the house to have all the boxes in there and be able to move around, so they suggested putting some in the back of the garage, which was a good idea and I agreed to. I told them which ones to put there. The problem came later when I saw that they had really not paid attention to which boxes they put where. I saw a box that was clearly labeled fragile, on the bottom of a pile. Also saw a plastic tub with very heavy boxes on top of it.
This may sound bad, but they did work quickly and, except for the above mentioned, knew what they were doing. I would use them again, with a little more supervision.

We needed a mover to do "the heavy stuff" going from one house to another. They were punctual, quick, efficient, and moved us in less time they estimated. And they only charged us for the actual move, not the extra time we thought we would need. We would totally use them again and recommend them to friends.

“Man With a Van” did a terrific job with my move. Everything went right, and their price was great. I was moving from a 2-bedroom condo in Arlington VA to an efficiency apartment in Rhinebeck NY, so this was a small move over a relatively long distance. When I started calling the highly-rated independent movers near Arlington, I found out that it would cost about as much as moving a lot more stuff the same distance (size of truck issue). The big national companies could charge less but my move would share space with other peoples’ and I might have to wait weeks for delivery. I reluctantly decided the only affordable way was to rent a van, drive it myself, and hire professional movers to load and unload. I was basically dreading the whole move.

However, from the minute I spoke with “Man With a Van” in New Paltz, NY things started going well, and this continued through completion of the move. First, Dave got back to me right away, gave me an excellent quote for the unloading job I had called about, and also said since “Man With a Van” specializes in small moves (though they also do large ones), they could probably do the entire move for about what my do-it-myself strategy was going to cost. He provided a firm estimate which was way better than anyone else's and because of that and the great ratings they had from Angie’s list I decided to hire them.

I have no complaints and plenty of compliments for how this move was accomplished. Whenever I called or emailed with a question or clarification, Dave got back to me promptly and informatively. The team (Kevin and Russ) showed up on the day of the move right on time, despite having driven 5 1/2 hours from New Paltz, including through a coastal flood warning area and DC’s usual Beltway traffic. They loaded and were on the road in under an hour. The next morning Kevin and Russ were at the Rhinebeck apartment right on time and unloaded the truck in less than an hour. They put everything where I requested. Nothing was dinged or damaged and in particular, an extremely heavy and fragile glass-topped desk made the trip just fine.

I strongly and without reservation recommend “Man With a Van.” They are the epitome of professional and their rates are very reasonable. I gave them a bonus over the fixed price, not just because their price was great -- a bad company might give you a good price but you’d still regret hiring them -- but because of the outstanding quality and value. I would definitely hire them again.

I received a telephone quote that was $100 less than what it ended up costing me but I had very heavy furniture and stairs at my destination. The two man crew arrived on time. The only damage was a nick in the arm of a den chair. They carefully shrink wrapped most pieces of furniture and set up the mirror on my dresser at my destination. I would use them again.
