Kevin Babcock General Contracting

My wife and I hired Kevin Babcock General Contractor to construct a 3 season room addition to our home. Kevin quoted a very reasonable price, for the project which included a start and end date, for the job. The project was started and finished within the scheduled time. Kevin is excellent with communicating what is going to happen, on the project, on a regular basis. He also answers any question you may have during the course of the job. His people are very professional and skilled, at all aspects of the project. In addition to the construction Kevin also handled all of the paper work including filing the plans, which we had already prepared, through to delivery of the C of O. Kevin also provided additional value, to the project, which just made it better, at no extra cost. We are very pleased with our new 3 season room and highly recommend Kevin Babcock, General Contractor.

Kevin and his team did a great job - the front of my house is transformed. They demolished an existing brick stoop and replaced it with a small deck, which looks great. They also repaired and repointed brick steps leading down to the sidewalk. I had talked to a few other contractors previously and had a kind of vision of what I wanted. Kevin was able to make it a reality. They worked quickly (without rushing), neatly, and conscientiously, always consulting me on the small details as these came up. The job was permitted, being in the City of Newburgh, and Kevin also took care of that so there was no stress for me. I recommend him unreservedly.

Kevin and his crew were great. If we could give them more stars we would. The professional work thst was done is excellent. Kevin explains everything that he is going to do. And also ask for your opinion. Deck was finished in a timely manner. When they were finished everything was cleaned up. Never knew they were there. Kevin and his assistant, Santos, were very professional. Their work was excellent. They were hired to remove my old deck and replace it with a new one. Kevin was a pleasure to work with. He kept me constantly informed regarding progress. He delivered everything as promised and on time I will definitely consider Kevin and his team for future work. You won’t go wrong with Kevin handing your project.

Scope of project: rebuild our lower and upper deck and add a screened in porch to the upper deck. Excellent quality work and detail!! Great crew, kept the work area clean at the end of the day. Kevin communicates well. He and his team take pride in their work. Our new screened in porch is our favorite room!! We will hire him again for rebuilding of our front porch.

We were very pleased with the work that was done. It was not an easy job to repair a tongue and groove porch, but it came out perfect.

Kevin helped us turn a dream into reality: After hiring him to build a deck for us, we decided to hire him again to take on a large scale remodel/new build. We had an old 2 story barn attached to our house which was completely unfinished, and used as storage when we moved in. Kevin helped us to convert that space into a brand new 1300 square foot apartment with new HVAC (geothermal!), brand new kitchen w/ custom cabinets, 1 full and 1 half bath, laundry, vaulted ceilings, reclaimed lumber for all wood floors, brand new windows, doors, all of it. My in-laws are now happily retired and living with us, loving their brand new home. His crew was amazing. They worked hard on this project and came in very close to their original estimate, despite the fact that he quoted a price pre-Covid, and the cost of materials went through the roof during the project. He worked closely with his sub-contractors (plumber, electrician, HVAC) to ensure they were delivering a quality product that fit within our budget. He was in regular communication with our architect throughout the project as well. He even dealt with our annoying building inspector long after we got the C of O, because Kevin understands the value of customer service. Kevin is the best. Hire this man!

A great experience working with him

I hired Kevin to remodel our two car garage into an extra room, along with building a laundry room along with plumbing, hallway, replacing garage door with a new wall/siding, new windows etc. Kevin Babcock and his team have been an absolute pleasure to work with. They are responsive to the needs of the homeowner, readily available throughout the entire project and amazing to work with. Kevin ensures his clients are constantly kept in-the-know about the progress and openly accepts feedback and ideas. He not only was attentive and accountable but his team does impeccable work that left us with a life changing home remodeling to accommodate our growing family. I would recommend Kevin to anyone for his skill, expertise and integrity and will continue to hire him for future projects of our own.

We hired Kevin Babcock to do a gut renovation of our 1873 farmhouse. He said that it would take 3 mos., from start to finish, which I felt was ambitious but, he and his team completed the work in the time quoted with great skill and care to maintain the feel of the old house yet update it to our contemporary needs. He and his crew are trustworthy, creative, incredibly professional, and personable. They answered all of our questions, made suggestions and took much of the stress out of a situation that could have otherwise been very taxing. I, without hesitation, would recommend Kevin for any contracting job, large or small!

Let me start by saying this review has been a long time coming! The day before New Yearâ s Eve 2021 my basement suffered a sewer water flood. My family and I packed up our things and vacated the house and were put up in a hotel. I was in way over my head with the insurance end of things and cleanup in the basement so when it came time to find someone to fix the basement I was already at my wits end. At the urging of a friend, I reached out to Kevin and as soon as he arrived I knew he was a good fit. First and foremost, one of his priorities was the well-being of my three-year-old. Covid had ramped back up again and we living in a hotel. He assured me that he would get everything done and help me work with the insurance company. On the day Kevin and his team were set to come start working there was an impending ice storm in the forecast- I figured he would cancel, but he didnâ t. Kevin and his team came and started to get to work and eventually called it a day once the storm was starting. His team worked quickly and smoothly to get us out of the hotel even working on Saturdays so we didnâ t lose time. Kevin was always available when I called him or had a question and he showed up often to check on the work himself. Iâ ve dealt with many contractors and many are hands off- Kevin was not that way and even stepped in to do work himself to help get us finished and out of the hotel. I canâ t recommend him enough and am eternally grateful that he made a stressful time easier.

Kevin recently took down an existing 2 level deck and replaced both decks with new composite decking and two staircases. Kevin and his staff are extremely professional, knowledgeable, reliable and did an amazing job. Kevin and his staff go above and beyond what is asked of them. Kevin and his team are the best contractors we have ever had! We look forward to working with them on several other projects. P.S. Kevin exceeded our expectations. He and his crew did a great job. Kevin listened to all our requests and concerns and made sure everything was done properly. Ours was a major project expanding our kitchen into the garage. New walls floors electric and plumbing. Kevin took care of everything. Kevin always responded to our calls and was a pleasure to deal with. We highly recommend Kevin and plan on using him on other projects in the future.

We needed to remodel our current home that was built in the 1900s. We spoke with 2 other contractors who told us they couldnt do what we wanted or never showed back up. We finally found Kevin and he said he was absolutely able to do what we wanted. From day one we knew Kevin was going to be our guy. Kevin went above and beyond to make sure we got everything we wanted and more and stay on our budget. Kevin and is team handled everything from getting our permits to all the finishing touches. I didnt make it very easy on him with my changes throughout the bathroom part of the remodel but he never once got upset he just took it in stride. He made sure to keep me in the loop with every meeting or inspection. Him and his team put there blood sweat and tears into our house literally. I cant say enough good things about Kevin and his team. I have personally referred him to many other people and will continue to do so. He made our old outdated money pit of a house into a beautiful more modern home. Kevin is now in our speed dial for future home projects.

From the second Kevin walked in for our estimate I could tell he was genuine and not trying to oversell or take advantage. Our project was a basement remodel for my mother who was moving in. The entire experience was wonderful, from start to finish. His team is amazing, super dedicated and we were involved in every step along the way. Kevin was always right there talking my mom through what she needed, helped her pick out her finishing touches, and even suggested we add/remove things from the remodel we would have never thought of doing on our own. He never once made us feel like we were asking too much and ANYTIME I had a question or concern he always got back to me same day. His work is top notch and his team is filled with the kindest group of men I have ever met. I didnt always make it easy, but they always delivered. We could not be more thrilled with the way things turned out, down to the last details, and would 100% call Kevin and his guys back for any future contracting needs.

Kevin and team built a 32x12 porch on the front of our house during covid-19 happiness. Delays mostly from the town, but also from wood suppliers managed to get in the way, but never stopped his efforts and excellent communication. He supported my personal work as well, providing necessary official interfaces with the town. There was very little to worry about. I look forward to using Kevin and his team again in the future. Honest, dependable, straight-forward and knowledgeable. A great find.

Kevin and his crew did an incredible job building our two tiered, wrap around deck with stairs leading down to the back yard. They rebuilt my front porch steps and reinforced my old deck as well. All of this was done in about a week, and they came in at the exact price that was quoted from the beginning. Kevin also came by and fixed a barn door for us when we needed it in an emergency. Great guy, great craftsmanship. We are looking forward to hiring him for all major home renovations in the future!

Ken and his guys did a fantastic job. Have had 3 decks done and their work us far superior. It's looks beautiful and extremely sturdy. They are very thoughtful..had a broken rocking chair on the porch. They took it home and fixed it for us without us even asking. Really great guys. Highly recommended!
