We purchased a house where the previous owners had really let the yard go - there were weeds that were taller than we were, the shrubs were overgrown into the sidewalk, etc. It wasn't clear to us what should stay and what should go. Initially, we thought that we wanted to tear everything out and replace with all new plants. When Bob came to do the estimate, he suggested that instead they pull out all of the weeds and clean up the existing plants so that we could see what we had. We are so glad that he suggested this - the yard looks so many times better and we did not have to shoulder the expense of tearing everything out and buying all new plants. It was still a big clean-up job, and the difference is really impressive. We will keep trying to improve the yard over coming years and will definitely use Bob and his team whenever we can.

Bob was the best to work with. Both he and his crew are very knowledgeable The arrived at 8:00 am sharp and put in a full day's work. before they left each day the work site was swept clean. I would call Bob again and have no problem recommending him. My neighbors have commented on how good the front of my house looks

It went well

I have never worked with a landscaper before and really had no idea what the true cost of the job should be. The total amount seemed alot to me, but in the end it was worth it.
I can tell you that I called a number of landscapers and McNaulty is the best by far. Other landscapers either:

• showed up and came back with insane proposals,
• showed up and obviously didn't have the knowledge to do the job,
• showed up and dropped off the face of the earth when it came time to submit the proposal,
• or had a message that said "if the project wasn't over $25,000 we not interested"

Who knew it would be this difficult to get a garden renovated?
Fortunately, I had the opportunity to work with Roger on my project. His professionalism and years of experience insured me that the job would be "done right".
The McNaulty team showed up every morning at about 8:00-8:30 and the guys really worked. The entire project took about 3 weeks, but the transformation is worth every dollar I spent.
We had trouble with a row of evergreens adjusting to the area. I called Roger and within a week the trees were replaced without any hassle. Bob, the owner, even left a message for me reiterating the warranty and making sure everything was fine with the replacement. That's what I call customer service.
If I had it to do over, I would definitely hire McNaulty again.

We had two unsuccessful and very frustrating tries with other landscaping companies before we found Bob. It was pretty clear that he was going to be the one doing the job as soon as we met him. He was very professional, punctual and very well informed. He understood what we were trying to achieve, and also respected that we did not want to spend an arm and a leg on the backyard. He suggested plants that would do well (and they have) and also recommended that we install a sprinkler system, which we did after a lot of deliberation and it was worth it.
Bob put gravel in our backyard, created beds along the sides and planted. It looks great and is doing well. We would recommend Bob to all of our friends and family and would use him again anytime.

We got Bob's name through Chris Sawicki of Sweet Earth Landscape Design, and they make a terrific team, having collaborated on a number of projects. Bob was great to work with. We felt he gave honest opinions that were designed to sell anything, and he contributed some excellent ideas that definitely improved the project. He was very accessible and personally involved, making at least 1 appearance on the site most days. His crew was polite, hardworking and maintained a neat site. Love the final result. Would definitely recommend.

Excellent. Work was supervised at all times. Very difficult job that had property and hill in danger of total erosion and wash out damage to trees. Job took approximately 7 days. Hill partially hand excavated for placement of railroad ties for 2 retaining walls that function as flower beds. Street level also lined with railroad ties to prevent runoff from rainwater that had become a major problem over the years. Each step of landscaping plan was meticulously thought out to prevent any further damage to existing trees. Soil was trucked in to replenish quantities of eroded soil and fill in behind railroad ties and planting beds. Workers sometimes encountered circumstances more difficult than anticipated but pricing and supervision never waivered. While this was a large job it was still planned conservatively with no additional "ideas" or sales pitches ever mentioned. Supervision easily reachable during off-hours by e-mail or phone. Problems solved and property promises to be a glorious garden again by spring.

Bob was a joy to work with! He was intuitive, polite, timely, and worked with me to scale the project to what we could afford. This spring I bought a house in Brooklyn with a backyard that was a bare lot full of broken glass and buried trash. I turned over the soil myself, removing much of the trash and glass, but was worried about removing enough to make it safe for our coming baby. I came up with a layout and called Bob. When he came for an initial visit, Bob understood immediately what I wanted, and was happy to install the stone and perennials I provided as part of the work. (I binged on the end-of-season perennial sales of some online plant stores and had them delivered for the start of this project as a cost-saving measure). His crew was always on time or early, and they worked through the hottest week of summer without complaint. They leveled the yard, removed 6" of bad soil and glass, installed *gorgeous* sod, cut walkway stones into the sod from the back door to the patio, installed stones to edge my flower beds, and pruned the overhanging Princess trees. Even in Bob's absence, the crew consulted me at every turn about layout. We crafted the shape of the three different flower beds together, the placement of the stones they cut into the sod as a path, and they even installed the three laundry poles I had pre-made. (I really wanted some clotheslines, so I sunk 4"x4"s in buckets of concrete and had Bob's guys install them below grade as part of the design.) They cleaned up meticulously after each day's work. Despite the fact that they had brought dozens of wheelbarrow loads of dirt to and from the street for several days, once they were gone, you wouldn't have known anything had happened here... ...except for the fact that my yard is now gorgeous. Thanks, Bob!

First, I'm a disabled senior with no lawn care abilities and a fear of hiring contractors. Mr Bob McNulty answered his own phone, did the eval and estimate himself, met with myself and the workers at job's start, came back to inspect the finished job to make sure I was satisfied. The workers were beyond professional, courteous and polite. All work was done on time, on budget, broom swept and all debris hauled away. It made me weep, it was so beautiful.
We discussed winterizing and plans for planting next spring, I'm looking forward to working with them. It was spectacular! I found out McNulty's has been in business for thirty years, now I know why.
I would recommend him to everyone, two of my neighbors have already asked for his number...and I've a gardener for life!

I met Bob (owner) at the nursery. We looked at various trees and shrubs, until we were satisfied with my choices. They came the following week with all my choices, ripped out the old shrubs, and planted the new stuff. I was amazed at the transformation! Bob really knows his plants! He even mulched an existing tree for me (at no cost)! If you're looking to improve your curb appeal, definitely give McNulty Outdoors Inc a call. You won't be sorry.

Here's an update: I called Mr. McNulty because the 2 boxwoods that were planted died because of the severe winter we had. They told me it would be a couple of weeks before they could get to me (honesty). They came out, and replaced both boxwoods (free of charge); I wasn't even aware they had come and gone (they were so swift and efficient)! This is the BEST landscaping company I have ever dealt with in my life! Thank you guys!

All went very well. They brought over healthy plants and met our expectations. The crew was very good and worked hard despite extreme heat. They were careful and cleaned up to a high standard. The beds look very good and full.

tHe was candid about what he could and couldn't do and did his best to find vendors who he respected to handle portions of the project. He also shared a lot of knoweldge and understanding. I highly recommend him. And he was on time and very pleasant.

Have been using them about a month. They come on the days they say they will. It's still early but the lawn is looking better.

Consulted with Mr. McNulty about installing a lawn in the backyard of a
small attached house. The owner had previously covered the yard with
indoor/outdoor carpet. Mr. McNulty discussed options, gave prices and
explained procedure. We scheduled a date. He showed up on time with his
two workers. The workers were excellent. They had to bring all the
equipment, topsoil, etc. through the house to get to the backyard. They
first covered the floor to protect it, were very careful moving the
equipment, etc., through the house so as not to bang up the walls. They
finished and did an excellent clean-up. I was very pleased.

This was a perfect job from start to finish. The crew was pleasant, respectful and professional. The workspace was always kept clean and each step was done in a timely fashion and as promised. There were no surprises in costs - everything was discussed up front and clearly defined.
We were upgrading our garden in order to have an outdoor going away party in late summer. Bob and his crew came to us through Sweet Earth Landscape design. They were to be the guys who did the "heavy lifting" in completing Chris Sawicki's lovely designs.
Not only did they do that, but they worked with us to get the garden into the best possible shape with major
trimming, mulching and general "tweaking" a mature space.
Through this process we decided to replace a messy plot of tangled greens with a patio. Bob helped us design and install a magnificent patio as well as solved some important drainage problems. I can't say enough about how pleased we are with Bob's work.

It went very well. He gave me an estimate based on 19 trees but he did not need that many so it actually came out cheaper than we had expected. I have asked him to care for the trees in the future which he said he would do.

We met with him one morning showed him the project. He identified some problem areas and listened to our suggestions. He gave us a start date and price quote for each phase of the project. He was on time, his men were professional, he was very responsive. He worked closely with us and our Landscape designer. He was very receptive to changes throughout the various planning phases. His men came in and pulled out the old bushes and shurbs, cleared the area of brush, trimmed the existing bushes and rebuilt the tiered garden with existing rock. He picked up the plantings that were ordered by our Lansfdscapedesigner and planted them. Replanted the lawn. The final product was a beautifiul yard that we are very happy with. I would definitely recommend him and work with him again.

Bob cam to our home on consultation to discuss the possibility of installing a patio. He spent a great deal of time truly looking at the space, the lay of the land, the reach of the sun and the age and condition of the existing plants. He worked with Chris Sawicki of Sweet Earth Landscaping Design, not only in the design and placement of the patio, but also added his input when asked. Together Bob and Chris made an amazing team that understood what we loved about our yard and home, how we want to use the space as well as a deep knowledge of plants, trees, shrubs and flowers.

Bob's crew were also fantastic. They were punctual, polite, neat and knowledgeable. It was clear that Bob could and did trust his men to do truly professional work and behave professionally at all times ( and not just in front of the customer).

I am already planing on working with them again to do the next stage of my yard and look forward to working with them well into the future.
